Removed so much cartilage, nose looks & feels extremely unnatural

ORIGINAL POST

Bad Results: Rhinoplasty

BEWARE of this surgeon if you are seeking a rhinoplasty! He is cold and desperate for money. Does not care about your emotional and physical well-being at all. Do not trust the photos and instagram, that is not the way to choose a surgeon.

I went in to do a primary rhinoplasty with Dr Fechner. Initially, during the consultation he tried to book a rhinoplasty without my consent, didn’t even give me time to think it out. I decided to give in and book the consultation out of desperation.

Fast forward and the surgery happened. After the cast was removed I did notice that my nose looked very short and not natural at all (as I requested) but I thought I could live with it. As time went on the nose looks like he removed sooooo much cartilage and looks as well as feels extremely unnatural, it looks so skinny and the only thing I could feel when I touch my nose is basically just the bridge of my nose(which is extremely skinny) and tiny bones. I barely have a nose anymore. It’s only getting worse at time goes by. My nostril on the left is also whistles when I breath. This has caused me so much depression, regret, and self blame(trust me the depression is bad and I have had depression in the past but nothing like this before).

My advice to the person making a decision to do a rhinoplasty:

1. Don’t go to people like Dr Fechner, he will tell you what you want to hear knowing that he can’t actually give you the results you want.

2. Make a decision from a place of pure positivity and hope rather than desperation(I regret not going to Dr Joshua Zimm, who was much kinder and professional in his approach as well as operated on celebrities in the past).

3. Wait, patience is key. Money should not be the only factor in choosing a rhinoplasty surgeon. Save your money and go to a surgeon that does A LOT of rhinoplasty a year and also does a lot of revisions.

4. If you get a botched primary rhinoplasty(I mean a really bad rhinoplasty), DO NOT GO BACK TO THE SAME SURGEON, they don’t know how to do the primary what makes you think they will know how to do a revision?
