Amazing experience! This is long but hopefully a useful read.
In the consultation, I was so nervous. I was worried I'd get pressured into surgery or he'd find several things wrong with my nose. I had a fairly large dorsal hump and breathing issues. The cost at this clinic was a bit lower than others I had inquired about and I was concerned it might be reflection on the results.
The clinic staff was super friendly. Dr. Younger was all smiles, very funny and very direct with me. He said he would objectively look at my face as a whole and give recommendations but no pressure in the slightest. He confirmed my deviated septum, took photos and showed me on his computer what my nose could look like. He was very honest with me throughout, he said he'd be very happy to just do the deviated septum which is covered by MSP and there's no pressure to get the hump reduced if I don't feel comfortable. However, it's a very common procedure, my skin was quite thin and he was confident he could get very close if not exactly to the edited photo on his computer (he was right!). He reassured me that I'm a beautiful girl either way and it's 100% my decision.
When I went to pay for my surgery to book, I told one of the clinic staff that I was nervous and she told me she just got the same surgery done, and to get excited about the results.
Surgery day, I was shaking from nerves. He came into the room and was so friendly, so calm and seemed excited for me. The surgery went really well and the folks at the clinic treated me like royalty. The anesthesiologist was incredibly nice, I wish I knew his name. I was nervous and he held my hand, he told me he has daughters around my age and he will take care of me like I was one of his own.
The next day, I felt oddly fine. I walked around my house and was in a great mood, only a bit uncomfortable. I realized I was probably still a bit high! The next three days after that, I was swollen but mostly uncomfortable and maybe slightly sore, thankfully. He called my house, spoke to my mom first and had a chat and laugh with her. He then spoke to me and was happy to hear I was doing well, gave me some advice and booked an appointment to get my cast off. He seemed just as excited as I was to take my cast off.
When my cast first came off (Wednesday surgery, cast off following Tuesday), I was expecting to be unhappy as many people are due to swelling that can apparently last months. Even with a bit of swelling (and slight bruising under one eye), the dorsal hump was gone completely. I was SHOCKED. I told him that even if the swelling never went away, I'd still be SO happy, it looked a million times better. He told me it definitely will go down and I'll notice changes in the next few months and he was right.
I went back for my 6 week check up, 2.5 months later since I'd forgotten to book it. The clinic called and reminded me, luckily. I thought the swelling was completely gone, but he told me there was a bit of build up on the tip of my nose (I hadn't even noticed). I'm to come back in 4 months, if it's not gone, he'll inject with a steroid to reduce it, which is very normal. Again, I'm so happy regardless. I joked that I want more surgery done and asked what else he'd do. He told me he wouldn't do any other surgeries on my face, that I look great as I am and to leave well enough alone haha. Clearly, he's not looking for my money and he seems very genuine.
I never realized how much I thought about my profile around other people. I used to subconsciously position my face a certain way when speaking to others, all that is gone. My mind is a lot clearer when it comes to my image.
Thank you Dr. Younger and the team!
* Disclaimer, I saw results right away and from my understanding, this is highly dependent on your skin type and the specific adjustments on your nose. For others, it can take many months for the swelling to go down, even a year, so don't expect the same quick results and be patient!
