One month post op

One month post op :)! The swelling has went down a lot and I feel so much more confident it won’t let me reply to comments :( so sorry if I can’t get back to you - my nose is still tender and sore inside but it is a lot better now and I feel loads more confident and I can finally smile which is amazing because I haven’t ever smiled in my whole life I feel like a brand new person!

I Had an Amazing Experience

My experience was amazing from start to finish. I had wanted a rhinoplasty for many years and I first contacted Dr Metin Kerem in 2017. Ferve his international co-ordinator is superb! She explained everything to me at the time and this year I messaged again and every question I had she answered. Ferve, Dr Kerem and his nurse in the clinic there english is all superb as well therefore there was never a barrier at all. I flew from the UK to Istanbul and I got a package and I was picked up by the driver, of course I was nervous as I am only 23 and went alone but it was fine. I found the driver and he took me to the hotel I booked through the clinic. I got to the hotel and was very tired. The hotel I stayed at I seen a few people with rhinoplasty plasters on therefore no one stared at all I even went out and about Istanbul four days post op and no one looked at me whatsoever as I was quite anxious and I had quite a bit of bruising due to my thick skin! Therefore don’t worry they’ve seen it all before lol :) My first day the driver picked me up from the clinic was very sweet he even took me to get my money into lira as it’s cheaper to do so in Turkey and then I went and met Dr Kerem and the team. They were very nice Istanbul is a very busy place but his office is in a more peaceful part of town. Dr Kerem was recommended to me by my bestfriend who had the same op in 2017. He is a very natural surgeon and he won’t give you a false expectation he knows what he needs to do and he won’t sugar coat it which I highly respect. After my consultation with him my driver took me back to the hotel and the next day was my operation day! The hospital I stayed In was amazing my room looked like a 5* hotel room and the nurses and doctors were all nice, their English isn’t fluent but I used my google translator on my phone and I’m scottish so I’m use to people not understanding me haha! They were all nice and it was better than any experience I’ve had in the UK. I don’t remember falling asleep as many people are scared to fall asleep but before it I quickly seen Dr Kerem and then I got my bloods taken then my sedation drip and the next thing I know I woke up and it had been done as if no time had passed! I got taken back to my room and I wasn’t in pain at all and anytime I was in pain the nurses helped me and you have pain killers too. My first night I didn’t get the best sleep but I had septoplasty as well and I have braces so it was a little sensitive. I would recommended buying a baby toothbrush before your rhinoplasty! I wish I did. Ferve chatted to me the whole time and checked up on me also I called her a few times to translate for me which was super nice of her! The next day I seen Dr Kerem and I was discharged they brought my medication to me and i was driven back to the hotel. I would advise if you’re going alone to buy food in for your first few days and also buy a neck rest as well to help elevate your head as you need to sleep up right or it can be very uncomfortable! I stayed in for the first four days as I had bad swelling but by day four post op was the day I returned to the clinic for a check up and that was my first day out. Dr Kerem removed the splints which felt AMAZING I could finally breath through my nose again LOL then the next few days I explored. I got tired quite quickly but I also think it was due to the sun as well. On my last day I went back to the clinic every time you need to go back and fourth the driver will take you which is fabulous. I was sad to leave but I was mega happy with the results through my bandages. I am only two weeks post op and thick skin can take upto two years for the full swelling to go down and it is a process but trust me it is worth it. I will upload the pictures I have at the moment and if anyone has any questions feel free to ask me as I understand it’s a nerve wracking experience. I can honestly say though my trip was great! You have nothing to be nervous about with Dr Kerem you’re in safe hands he’s all for the natural look and he doesn’t need to advertise all over Instagram etc because he is that amazing he finds most of his clients through word of mouth! Thank you so much to Dr Kerem and the team especially Ferve she is an asset to the company as she has always checked up on me before, during and after the trip! If I was to ever get more surgery I would only trust Dr Kerem :)
