Amazing Experience at Girin

I honestly can’t believe that it has already been four months since my surgery at Girin. I’ve been healing well and most of the swellings have subsided. I haven’t run into any major complications or bad reactions to anything yet. The scars from my face and forehead lift have been improving, and the redness around the eyes have started to lighten. My eyes have gotten bigger, nose is a bit sharper and my face appears much smaller. Most importantly, I don’t look overly done at all in spite of multiple procedures performed.

I genuinely believe that my great surgery outcome has everything to do with amazing work that Dr. Jeon and Dr. Song performed. I want to emphasize again the importance of great skilled doctors who truly understand your ideal surgery outcome expectations. I can tell you from my personal experience at Girin that the right doctor will go the extra mile in effort to work on the minor details for you to achieve the better lasting results. As a patient, there were some things that I just wasn't aware of that could occur post procedure. However, Dr. Song and Dr. Jeon carefully performed surgeries to minimize any negative effects that possibly could rise after the surgery. For example, I had a lot of fine lines under my eyes before my procedure, and Dr. Song commented during our consultation that he'll try to minimize the lines as much as possible with the Lateral Canthoplasty. And I was informed by the nurses that Dr. Jeon took extra time to cautiously lift my forehead and face to minimize any dimpling or severely pulled back appearance. I can’t express how grateful I am that Dr. Jeon was the one that performed my facelift and rhinoplasty. It’s as if she knew exactly what I was picturing in my head when I explained to her what I desired. Perhaps, this is because she listened to my every word carefully during our consultation and put so much effort into achieving them for me. I absolutely respect her detail oriented work ethic and precision. Moreover, I adore her compassionate and sweet demeanor.

Girin staff have also been in contact with me continuously in efforts to address any questions or concerns that I might have during the healing process. They regularly request my photo updates to monitor my progress, and I am sincerely thankful for their aftercare services. I still have a slight unevenness on my right eye and they reassured me that they will fix this for me if it doesn’t correct itself within the next couple of months. After reading and hearing about how some hospitals completely ignore their international patients after a unsatisfied post-surgery outcome, I feel extremely fortunate that I picked Girin. They have been well-established with certified doctors in Korea for many years, and it just felt right when I spoke with the doctors. They are extremely busy, but the doctors were dedicated to provide me with personalized consultations to explain every detail regarding my procedures. These are crucial aspects of finding a right hospital, so please do your research and only consider legitimate hospitals like Girin and reputable doctors.

I know that the true result won’t be finalized until about one year post operation and I can’t predict the exact outcome yet. However, I am extremely happy with the results thus far and looking forward to even more positive changes as my healing progresses. Occasionally, I wish that I could have known about Girin sooner, so that I could have enjoyed these amazing changes at a younger age. Although I am not and will never be perfect, I am feeling much more confident with Girin’s help. I plan to visit Girin again next time that I am in Korea and will continue to see Dr. Jeon even for minor procedures. I feel so fortunate that I found the right hospital with great staff and my ideal doctors that care for me at Girin.

As I read my previous posts, I reconfirmed my belief that choosing Girin was the best and the right decision for me. I genuinely think that I could not have felt as safe or comfortable if I chose any other clinic for my surgery. I highly doubt any other doctor could have achieved what Dr. Jeon and Dr. Song have been able to accomplish for me. Not only are they both highly skilled experts in their field, they really made extra efforts to accommodate every detail of my requests while ensuring my safety. Also, I don’t believe any other clinic would have taken care of me as well as the Girin team has for me pre- and post- operation.

After a month, a lot of the swelling has gone down and scars have lightened. My eyes and nose appear more enhanced but still look so natural. My jawline looks lifted while my overall facial line appears defined. My forehead lines are completely gone and my face overall looks more youthful. I didn’t know that my face could get smaller, but it at least looks much smaller making my features more emphasized. I actually think that I look better now than I did in my 20’s.

I’m happy to share that I personally didn’t face any major side effects and am very pleased with the progress so far. There is a bit of unevenness on my right eye, but I’ve been informed that it most likely will improve as the rest of swelling subsides. I know from my previous surgery experiences that minor unevenness is completely natural during the healing process. However, Girin team has been monitoring my progress and promises to provide me with a revision/corrective surgery if by any chance it doesn’t correct itself. Girin staff have been consistently communicating with me even after I left Korea, and Min has been reassuring me that I will be taken care of if any unforeseeable outcome occurs. I can’t emphasize how crucial this is for me especially as a foreign patient, because so many concerns rise as changes occur while healing. In spite of so many messages I sent to Girin team with random questions, I never felt dismissed or ignored. This is exactly what you want to look for in a clinic when you do your research - doctors and staff that stand behind their work and truly take care of their patients even after the surgery.

I am truly amazed with the results so far and have been thanking Dr. Jeon and Dr. Song every time I look in the mirror. I very much look forward to final results after everything has fully healed.

I just stopped by to let everyone know that I’ve been recovering very well since my last post. I was a bit concerned about the healing process since I had multiple procedures done at the same time. However, I really believe that Dr. Jeon and Dr. Song’s excellent skills and meticulousness led to a much easier healing process for me. I remember on the day of my surgery, Dr. Jeon holding my hand and assuring me that she will do her best. As I was laying in the surgery bed and started to fall asleep, I remember hearing her excited voice letting me know she found beautiful lines for my double eyelid. I felt at ease and comforted knowing that I was in the hands of someone who truly cared. I also remember Dr. Song’s gentle voice as he was performing the canthoplasty. I don’t recall rest of the surgery but I was moved to a recovery room when it was all done. A nightshift nurse came to check on me continuously and tried to help me feel a little more comfortable.
The next day I was released from the hospital, and Annie from the translator team actually walked me back to my hotel. She also told me that Min who is also from the translator team has been asking about me wanting to make sure I was doing well. He even left me a little note on my phone wishing me a successful surgery before he had to leave town. Min continues to stay in touch with me to make sure that everything is going well. I am so amazed at how sweet and amazing the translator team and the nurses are at Girin.
I was very swollen and a bit sore for a few days after the surgery as expected. I wasn’t sure how I was supposed to clean up around the stiches or bandages. However, Girin offered cleaning and stitch removal to ensure safe recovery process. I was happy to see that whenever the nurse removed the stitches, the swelling went down drastically. Also, Dr. Jeon and Dr. Song continued to monitor my progress and ensure me that the surgery was success.
In spite of the multiple procedures done, I was walking around Seoul shopping for gifts to take back to the states in about a week after the surgery. I understand that everyone experiences different recovery process but mine has been pretty good so far. I have to credit this positive experience to Dr. Jeon, Dr. Song and the Girin staffs that helped me from the moment I landed in Seoul. I’ll be back to share more of my progress and A/S service experience with Girin.
