Rhinoplasty Changed my Life for the Better

Rhinoplasty - worth every dime. A compete life changer. It’s been over a year since I had my nose done and my nose has transformed a lot. I would say in the first 8 months, it took THAT long for swelling to go down. It was a slow process but now that it’s subside, this pretty nose has surfaced. It’s no longer fat and upturned like it was after I got it done. The tip has dropped and it’s skinny now. Not a perfect nose but perfect is unrealistic anyways. He did some septo work and that would be my only complaint. I don’t breathe as well as I used to. My nose is much dryer internally and sometimes I smell sulfuric scents that no one else can smell. I think it’s bacteria harboring in my nose. To me, this issue is minor - I still have no regrets. Surgery cost $10k. Going to see a ent soon to get my inner septo looked at. Hopefully they don’t find any major functional issues but if they do, that’s completely fine. Totally worth it to me :)

Hey guys..I added a bunch of photos with this update but something has been wrong with this website the past few weeks and will not upload my pictures. Hopefully they upload this time. So basically, I'm only posting because I've gotten to the point where I'm starting to like the way my new nose looks. After dr g took off the cast, my nose was so swollen (3x the size it used to be) and the collumela was so upturned. I literally looked like ms piggy. My friends and family felt bad for me and tried to convince me it wasn't bad but it's not hard to tell that they were lying. Anyways, the swelling has gone down SUBSTANTIALLY and the tip has dropped quite a bit. I really underestimated the length of recovery time for this procedure- I never thought my nose could be so swollen. However, dr g did break the sides of my nose to narrow the bones, shaved the bump and deprojected it so it would create a slope, cut my nostrils and shrank them and fixed the twisted cartilage on the tip of my nose. When you have a lot of work done, you have to expect a long recovery. If any of you are fresh out of surgery, maybe just had your cast taken off or it's been a week since surgery and you're not happy with the results - DON'T PANIC..you have such a long way to go. My nose has change dramatically since surgery, for the better. Had I known this in hindsight, I would have saved myself a lot of tears, insecurity and shame. Please don't be too hard on yourself after surgery. This is a traumatic thing for your body to ensure and it needs time to heal. I am very happy, feeling beautiful, confident and sexy now. I don't regret my decision anymore (hopefully that doesn't change). With the way my nose used to be, I was always so careful with how I held my head in front of people so I could avoid them seeing my side profile. That behavior is gone. Now I can look straight ahead and in the corner of my eye, when I catch someone looking in my direction, I can smile knowing I'm happy with what they can see.

Felt like I was hit by a Mac truck when I first woke up. I kept asking the nurses to increase the pain killer dose. They obliged twice then they stopped lol. They said that I probably needed to eat food to help coincide with the medicine and they were 100% right. Anesthesiologist was a doll, he had excellent bedside manner and kept me calm right up to the moment I went unconscious. Dr. Grigoryants on the other hand was difficult to speak to. I felt rushed speaking with him when we recapped what he would do. He briefly explained what he was going to do in such a vague manner that it made me nervous. I encouraged him to be as descriptive as he could but he seemed to pre-occupied and distracted. This may just be part of his genius. They say that some incredibly intelligent people can be socially awkward and I think that may be the case with him. Anyways, it all felt like it went by in a flash. One second I was talking to the anethesiolgist and the next I was waking up with the nurses at my bedside. The experience overall was pleasant. The surgical unit/office was not very attractive with their outdated furniture and medical supplies strung all over the place but perhaps I'm just spoiled from what I've seen in New York City. As for the pain- I don't have any packing- just stents so the pain isn't that bad. It was just a big adjustment. I can definitely feel some airflow through my nose and my sinuses don't hurt at all. No head congestion either. Anyways, I apologize in advance to those of you with a weak stomach but I'm not one to sugar coat. I've posted some graphic pictures that might not even be very flattering for me but I hope that it benefits those of you that want to learn and understand exactly what happens when you undergo this procedure. More pictures to come as the healing continues.
