Excited for my surgery which is a little less than two months away

Long Awaited Nose Job

I really hate posting my before pictures. Every time I post a picture on social media, I would take a few minutes to change the shape of my nose with an Airbrush app. I decided to do something about it. I was going to use my original PS but he closed up shop and really did not specialize in facial surgery (I'm not really pleased with my lower face/neck lift). I am so glad I had no choice but to go with my second option, Dr. Gayner. His office is closer to my home, he specializes in nose jobs, is knowledgeable and truthful and is personable (not dry). The staff is very nice and I can tell that they are dedicated. I am excited for my surgery which is a little less than two months away.

Congrats on booking! The days go sooooo slow. I booked mine about five weeks out and it was the longest wait ever. I am 19 days post now and sooo happy I did it. Good luck! Will be excited for updates! :)

Aww thanks. I'm even excited for my pre-op appointment which is two weeks prior. I jumped over to your post but bummed that I didn't see before/after pictures. But I like the idea of watching reveals. I'll have to Google that!

Same! I was ecstatic for each step. I need to post some pictures! I need to review on the recovery process in general too. I feel like people are pretty vague about that and I really wanted to hear other people's experiences. I am very happy with my results so far. The swelling is something else though, I have read to "trust the process" and I do but I hate to post too many pictures at only a few weeks post, before a ton of the swelling goes down. I'm so swollen, I can literally feel my heartbeat in my face most of the time, so that's fun. Haha! But I would do it 1,000 times over again. :)

I'm So Thrilled

I went to my pre-op appointment two weeks prior to surgery. Before I even sat down I was informed that my appointment had to be changed to five days earlier or a week later. I had a conflict with the first date offered so I chose the one-week postponement. They say there’s a reason for everything. I got sick (not Covid) with mostly chest congestion, 10 days prior to surgery. My General Practitioner gave me meds and I was ready for surgery on the postponed date, January 17.

I am getting a little hump smoothed and thinning my bridge/dorsum and my main reason, remove volume from the tip of my nose.

Day of Surgery
I live less than two miles from the surgery center. My ride picked me up six minutes before I had to be there and we arrived on time. Check in was smooth, little waiting nor was I rushed. When I was told to put on my gown, I was informed that I could keep my underwear and yoga pants on! Loved that – felt less vulnerable.

During my pre-op, Dr.Gayner said that there would be very little pain, if any, made no strict demands of keeping the “splint” absolutely dry (showering permitted when I felt like it), and he told me that he doesn’t use packing (maybe for my type of needs). I really thought him and his assistant were down-playing the severity. Geez, was I wrong! Dr.Gayner is talented! When I woke up I was able to breathe through my nose (I thought nostril breathing would be nonexistent). It felt kind of burny. And the bridge of my nose was a little achy. I really wasn’t groggy.

I stayed at my mother’s house which is just thirty feet away from my house. I stayed with her for about eight hours and felt good enough to walk home. The fresh air felt good and it was nice to be in my own house where I have the temperature cooler.

First Morning
I’m done with the moustache dressing. I cleaned out the crust from my nostril edges. I have a little bruising and a little swollen around my eyes. The tip of my nose may be bruised or it could be the doctor’s markings. Either way, not a big deal. My forehead is a little swollen too, it looks like a got fresh injections of Botox ;-) I feel great!

Day 3

On day 2 my second eye bruised. Day 3, no increased bruising or swelling. I may be taking the corner for improvement. This recovery is so easy, I don't have pain or discomfort. I sometimes forget that I have the ""splint" on my nose. Photo is not uploading. It is saying that the photo is too large (maximum allowed is 6MB). My photo is 2.2 MB. I will try again later.
