Completely shortened nose despite agreeing on a masculine, natural finish!

Completely Shortened my Nose Despite Agreeing on a Masculine, Natural Finish!

I am very disappointed by the results of my rhinoplasty with Dr Dilber. I’m a male and it was very important to me that he didn’t shorten or lift my nose too much. I was never bothered by the size and was very happy with my side profile but from the front I had a crooked nose and uneven nostrils with a deviated septum. You could say that my columella was ‘hanging’ slightly but I had absolutely no issues with it, never characterised it as such and especially never requested for him to remove it. I know my case was quite complex since essentially I had a broken nose but my instructions were very clear : I wanted to retain the overall shape as much as possible and correct the functional issues while straightening the bridge and even out the nostrils (without expecting perfection). I had difficulty breathing from my right nostril and wanted to fix it. We discussed it in details during the consultation and agreed that it wouldn’t be necessary to lift the tip and that he would do minimal changes to preserve the look of my nose and achieve a natural finish.

Well the results are quite shocking. He shortened my nose completely despite never discussing or agreeing on it. My columella has been totally cut off making the alar base look flat and unnatural. He removed so much that it’s pulling the skin under my nose when I smile because there is no columella connecting the tip and the base of my nose anymore. Any good surgeon would have worked the columella to try to refine it or reduce it slightly but not removing it altogether! The bridge is widened too much it just looks like a log on my nose and leaning to the left with a thick, unrefined radix. There has been no effort made to try and even out the nostrils properly. He added way too much support to the tip which is why it looks upturned. His excuse is that « otherwise the tip would have been droopy »… I never said my nose was droopy and was always happy with the projection so why did he make the decision himself to chop my nose off and lift my tip?! That’s because this is the only method he knows and cannot do anything else. He completely altered the look of my nose when we agreed to preserve the overall aesthetic. Honestly looking at the results he barely tried, just took my money and did what he does to every other patient regardless of what we discussed. It’s not even a good result functionally because even though I can breathe better from my right nostril, my left nostril now feels congested and I can’t breathe properly from it. I’ve been cleaning it and blowing my nose every day but it’s not improving so I have no idea what he ended up doing with it. My nose has lost all its projection now, it’s looking extremely flat from the front but upturned from the side. It’s just a mess. It will be very difficult to fix with a revision rhinoplasty because he shortened it so much. The columella is really shocking to me, there is nothing left to work with or extend. He really did just cut it off.

This is a surgeon with no real skills who completely lacks finesse in his work. He made no effort to preserve the natural aspects of my nose because he simply isn’t capable of it. He took it upon himself to remove key parts just because they were in his way and he doesn’t know how to make them better. He clearly doesn’t have any understanding of what makes a nose look natural. Everything I didn’t want he ended up doing which is absolutely embarrassing and borderline unethical.

If you’re looking for any sort of natural results, masculine results, anything ‘taylor made’ to your expectations or if your case is remotely complex, DO NOT use him!
