If you are planning to get a nose job that requires ANY work to the functional inner workings of the nose (septoplasmy), including addressing breathing issues or a deviated septum, I highly advise you to reconsider before choosing Dr. Rahban. Choose someone who is DOUBLE BOARD certified and a SPECIALIST in the face only (both of which he is not).
I went to Dr. Rahban several years ago for a rhinoplasty / septoplasmy procedure. I had a bad deviated septum, breathing issues, but also was unhappy for aesthetic reasons. At the time, Dr. Rahban seemed like a good fit — he had glowing reviews and in our consultation, his confidence made ME confident that he would be provide the results I needed. I felt very convinced that he was the right choice (but had virtually no frame of reference at that time for what a “good” or “right” plastic surgeon is). I was very satisfied with the results of my nose job at first, but as you know, true results show after about 2 years once swelling goes completely down. Over time, I started to notice imperfections, and become dissatisfied for a variety of reasons — aesthetically and medically. Not only did the tip turn out extremely small, the nasal valves were also extremely narrow and not supported, and collapsed on one side. The deviated septum was still deviated, and to this day, I have breathing issues that affect my sleep (more than before the procedure). I now have plans to see a new surgeon, one who is double board certified in both Otolaryngology / ENT and in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive surgery (unlike Dr. Rahban, who is only board certified in the latter).
Dr. Rahban is certainly a good surgeon in certain respects, and I have nothing against him personally. But from my experience with him, the outcome of my results, and extensive research and knowledge in the subject… with what I know now, I would not choose him again if I could go back. Rhinoplasty is one of the most difficult and complicated procedures out there, and requires someone who is skilled as a specialist in the face. There are going to be a lot of surgeons out there, but do a ton of research and reading on the topic before moving forward. Don’t be fooled by marketing, fancy words, “world renowned” etc etc… go based on fact-based evidence, the surgeon’s experience, and recent photos. The person with the most visibility is not always necessarily the best for your needs.
Lastly, in his podcast, Dr. Rahban mentions that as far as ownership goes, it is up to the patient to do their research. This is true, but it is also equally the doctor’s responsibility to be transparent about the limits of their expertise. I found that Dr. Rahban, while certainly an educated and skilled surgeon, was not transparent about where his limits lie. To me, that says a lot.
My experience isn’t the result of unrealistic expectations, it’s just the reality of my experience. I hope you take from it what you will.

I usually would not respond, but I've been giving this some thoughts and felt the need to address it personally. As a surgeon, I truly do my best to make each and every one of my patient better than when we started. I try to guide patients’ expectations and deliver the results we discussed, if not more. That being said, all surgeons no matter how skilled or how well intentioned, will have less than ideal results. Not all patients can and will be happy. Unfortunately, this review platform is flawed in that, I have no idea who you are, what I did, what nasal conditions we started with, and how you played a role in your recovery. Although no surgeon is perfect, all surgeons need to see their patients in follow up and attempt to address the concerns of their patients. Hence why I see all my rhinoplasty patients for up to 10 years. Results change over time, scar tissue forms and anatomy changes as is in your case.
As for expertise, I am board certified plastic surgeon with 15 plus years of experience. Rhinoplasty is essentially half of my entire practice and I have thousands of happy and grateful patients as demonstrated by my gallery and extensive reviews. As you know from your operative report or from listening to my podcast, I am a firm believer of STRUCTURAL rhinoplasty. I perform functional as well as aesthetic changes in all my noses, as the function is crucial and will absolutely be impacted by changes in the appearance. I use structure aka cartilage to reconstruct all my noses and have for years. As a matter of fact, I frequently perform revisions for patients of other double boarded ENT surgeons who’s noses have collapsed using this same technique. The fact that your nose has changed over the years does not indicate a lack of structure or skill but the nature of noses as a whole. I have dedicated my career to advanced rhinoplasty and therefore the notion that somehow I am not qualified or misleading patients is simply not true. If a patient doesn't like their result or is unhappy, while it can certainly be surgeon error, it absolutely doesn’t mean the surgeon is not qualified. Therefore, I find the content of this review inaccurate. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion hence the beauty of reviews, but since the reader knows nothing about the specifics of your case, or that you are even truly a patient, it is hard to make solid conclusions. The goal in my opinion from galleries and reviews, is to get a trend or tendency of a surgeon and his practice. I believe that the savvy prospective patient is able to determine the surgeons general skill, and compassion for patient care.
Nevertheless, it does sadden me when someone states they are unhappy regardless of the reason, and I am more than happy to go over things with you and see if there is a resolution, but of course that would require you to come in and have a dialogue. I truly wish you the best outcome.
