ONE YEAR UPDATE!!!

WORTH IT$11,200
It will be 1 year in about two weeks. But I thought close enough, I was so excited. I still am thrilled with it every time I see it, I still haven't regretted it for even a second. This past year I've experienced confidence like I never thought possible. I am so greatful to Dr. Naderi for his ethics and expertise and for the Realself community helping me make informed decisions and keep my expectations realistic. They aren't kidding when they say this is a long healing process! But every bit worth it to me! Even after a year it doesn't just feel like a regular nose. Still very firm, with scar tissue preventing me from having the full motion/flexibility in my face that I once had. Most noticable in my upper lip. But really nothing that interferes with daily life. It looks quite different now than it did at 1 week or at 3 months. It truly changes a lot. I will show the difference in my updated photos.
Just a side note for you guys going through this, or considering it... you will always have other people telling your THIER opinion on what you should/shouldn't do with your body. Do your own research, take the advice of your knowledgeable surgeon(dr.Naderi) and do what makes YOU happy!!
I allowed my photos to be shared on his web page/instagram and I had many many people comment that they did not like the change or thought I looked "WAY better" before my plastic surgery. I SEE THIS ALL THE TIME. On posts of beautiful results. Now, I knew the true motive of this. There's a select group of people that do not want to see others improve because it makes them feel like they themselves have become worse some how. I wasn't hurt by these comments exactly but they did bother me in the sense that they would never say that to me.. they see people on the internet and think they can comment and the person in the photo will never see it? So anyways, I reached out to a few of these people through private messages. Told them not to worry, i was very pleased with my results. And asked them why they wanted to try to break me down. And of course! These were girls, about my age, with very similar noses to my before nose!! They too wanted a nose job, one even went as far as to get a consult but didn't like what the surgeon had to say so never went through with it. Point being, the "haters" are just insecure and do whatever makes you happy.

Lex it looks so good!!! Will the tip feel more natural over time? Is it uncomfortable at all? And any breathing changes?

It should. It's definitely been improving; just slowly. I haven't notice any breathing changes. It is a little uncomfortable feeling sometimes, but I've just gotten used to it.

Thank you for your post! Your nose looks amazing. I live in VA and I am considering Dr. Naderi for my revision rhinoplasty. He has great reviews and I like how his results still look natural. He does seem to booked for a while.

Very helpful! Your before nose is similar to mine and it helps to see what can be done with a nose like mine! Your result is like what I would want.

In looooove with my nose

User Avatar

Still so happy with my decision. Im starting to like getting my picture taken. I used to despise photos. Atleast when othet people took them. My nose is what determind wether or not it was a good picture. When I'd take a selfie I could be really mindful of the angle. Now I'm so comfortable with it. Im going to post some new updated pics of my nose and some old before pictures. It's hard to find old before pictures though that I don't have the sun glaring on my nose to blur it out lol.

6 week update

I was waiting to update until i thought the swelling was noticeably less. It's so cute and little. Still ecstatic about it. I think im driving my boyfriend nuts talking about it..like "how cute does my nose look in this outfit??" but he thinks it looks great too. He says it makes my eyes look bigger and more focus on my smile:)
It feels fine. I breath normal. I saw my surgeon about a week ago and he said i don't have any restrictions now. Im no longer terrified if i bump my nose a little with my hand or my bfs nose smoochin. It doesn't hurt if that happens either, just feels a little wierd. Its suuper firm and pretty stiff. Makes a couple upper lip movements challenging but not anything noticable. The tip is holding on to the most swelling (as im sure you've read a million times) but everything is great! I really can't even explain how good I feel about it.

Hi you look soooo good! Thanks so much for sharing your story. I have a consultation with Naderi on the 31st, and I’m super excited. It really helped
Me to see how close your computer imaging was to final result. Did he say when the tip swelling will finally go down? Can’t wait to see more pics!

Ahh! Jboule, I'm so excited for you! He is an excellent surgeon so you can relax, you are in the best hands! And thanks so much! It really looks even better than the computer imaging in real life. The swelling takes a looong time to fully go down..heres the timeline...
*Cast removal day- moderate swelling
*3-5 days after cast removal- peak swelling. What is commonly referred to as the "potato nose" phase. It's going to look pretty funny to you at this time ESPECIALLY in pictures but trust me it doesn't look as weird to other people. (and really I still liked my potato better than my original nose)
*1 week from potato- swelling goes down slowly and gradually from peak potato. By 1 week after potato I was feeling pretty cute. The swelling varries throughout the day
*3 months post- im not there yet but they say majority is gone by then with roughly 20% of the swelling left that goes away over the next SEVERAL YEARS. It's a long process but I've appreciated my nose every step of the way.
*pictures always accentuate the swelling! It never looks as swollen in real life.
3-5 years for all swelling and scar tissue to dissipate

Ahh thanks Lex! That makes sense that it takes a while and that it’s more noticeable in selfies- I noticed he wrote no selfies for 6months on the forms!! I may die! Well it’s so reassuring to hear I picked a good doctor and after seeing your results I feel so much more confident going into my consultation! Every time I look elsewhere I’m like nooo I like him best haha. Enjoy your new nose it looks so amazing!
