You Are in Good Hands
You Are in Good Hands
I leave this review not only to highlight the great work of dottor Robotti and the entire staff behind him, at Villa Sant’Apollonia, but to reassure other patients, who can be afraid as I was, that they are really in good hands.
I perused many curricula, YouTube lectures, medical papers, reviews, before/after pictures, and, after months of research, I ended up shortlisting 3 doctors, all with different approaches to my case.
I wasn’t just looking for a plastic surgeon, but for a specialist who also had long experience and deep understanding of the anatomy of the nose, on top of a sense of aesthetics close to mine.
In Architecture, Vetruvius cited that the three qualities of a structure must be:
firmitas, utilitas, and venustas (stability, utility, and beauty). So for my nose, I was basically looking for an Architect! And in Dottor Robotti I had found mine.
I previously underwent rhinoplasty at age 18, after an accident when I was a toddler, but I was left with largely compromised bone structure and only partially able to breathe throughout my nose.
Dottor Robotti suggested a rib-grafting, not after having analyzed a cone beam tomography which basically consists of a 3d scan of your skull, to provide a more accurate understanding.
In the first visit, he takes time to explain to you exactly and precisely what he is going to perform by showing clinical cases similar to yours. This might be very graphic for some, but it gave me a clear vision, and it was much appreciated.
In the second visit he shows a “simulation” of the results to make sure your expectations are aligned.
What I need to say is that dottor Robotti is one of the most precise people I encountered (I don’t take that for granted, even in his field), he is a perfectionist while being realistic with what can be achieved, and he aims to give the most natural possible results (so not just a “fake-looking” standardized nose that it’s not harmonious with your own facial features).
He’s very straightforward and focus, not to be confused with lack of empathy and he takes great pride in his work.
I can’t speak highly enough of his professional approach.
I was scared I could look different, that my situation could worsen, that my nose could not be functional, etc, but, after talking to him, I felt I was in very good hands.
I wasn’t mistaken.
First one: 5 1/2 hour surgery and then, after a year, I underwent a revision (which he had already informed me it could be needed).
After the surgery you are not left alone, your recovery is monitored within the entire year with several follow ups. Moreover, all the communications have been carried promptly and fast by the administrative staff (Francesca was remarkable) and for any doubts dottor Leone has been kindly available (as well as dottor Robotti).
My experience was very positive and I hope that can help who is reading in shaping their choice without fear.
With a Deep Breath in, right into my nose…and a big smile of gratitude and appreciation…
Grazie di cuore Dottore!
