It only gets worse...

Now that I’m almost two years post op I can see all the things I feared the most actually happening. The inverted V, collapsed nostril, etc etc. - all of which have been confirmed at multiple consultations with actual board certified facial plastic surgeons- unlike Kassir. My breathing is absolutely awful now. I can never take a full breath in through my nose. It sounds terrible and people always ask why I’m panting when I’m doing simple things like going for a walk. It looked so much better post-op because all the swelling disguised all the mistakes that were made. Since he had seven scheduled surgeries the same day as me I’m sure one got lucky enough to come out looking decent to post on IG. I wouldn’t recommend leaving your face to luck though.
$14,000 for a dented and uneven nose
Not only does the left side of my nose have a dent (as seen in my previous posts) but my bridge has a very clear dent/line right across it. Make up does not cover it and doctors won't inject filler since I've had surgery it's considered high risk.
1 year and 2 weeks post op.
I'm finally ready to really get into detail to post every detail about my surgery. It has now been a little over a year since I had rhinoplasty done with Kassir and I can honestly say that choosing him as my surgeon was by far the worst decision I've ever made in my life. If I could give his practice zero stars I would.
I had been following him for years on Instagram and his results seemed great - especially on noses with large bumps like mine. When I finally contacted the office to book a consultation he answered and over the phone he was very friendly. When I asked him about the consultation fee he said not to worry about it and offered to set up a video consultation. I had the video consultation a few days later with my soon to be surgical coordinator and I told them that my main issue was my profile but that I was overall content with the front view of my nose. Brittani agreed and said that from the front you could not tell I had a large hump. She eagerly helped me sign up to finance the procedure and then let me know I would just have to get medically cleared for surgery. I was told that they would do digital imaging to see the expected/potential results. I contacted them the week prior to my surgery date since I still hadn't heard from them and they had no pictures of me. They told me that the morning of the surgery I'd get to talk to the doctor for 30 minutes and we'd do the digital imaging then and they said that since he does so many procedures and mine was one of seven for that day this would help him have it be fresh in his mind. By this time my payment was already processed and my flight was booked. They were very pushy but so nice about it that I missed all the red flags.
When I got to the office it was insanely warm inside considering it was late August and a place where they perform surgeries I expected them to have a.c. blasting. The only lady working looked tired and didn't have much to say when I asked about how warm it was. I also reminded her about my digital images and she said that talking to Kassir was most important. She also realized they never emailed me consent forms so she had me sign everything and was looking over my shoulder the entire time telling to just hit enter and giving me no time to actually read anything. I was the only patient there since my surgery was the first of the day. I remember a couple around my age getting there after I signed my forms and the guy was going to have his after me but Kassir wasn't even there yet. At this point I remember really wanting to run for the hills and cancel everything but then I started reading a Yelp review about a girl who agreed to finance the procedure and although she didn't have it they wouldn't give her a refund. I was mortified. Then Kassir arrived.
I was only given 5 minutes to talk to Kassir before surgery and he was just talking over me and cared more about doing an IG live video than asking me what my expectations were or asking me what I actually wanted. I kept trying to tell him but he kept talking over me. I asked about the digital images that had been promised to me the morning of the surgery and he brushed it off and asked him to send him the photos I had quickly showed him for my desired results. His last words to me before rushing out of the room and then seeing the anesthesiologist were "whatever I do will be great".
I came out of surgery I and I was alone in a room warmer than the warm waiting room and remember having to yell to have someone come into see me. The same lady who rushed me into signing consent form came in I asked her for water and she said they didn't have any and I asked for my fiance and she said he couldn't see me yet. I immediately messaged him to try to force them to see me because was so thirsty and just alone in a hot room. I didn't even see Kassir at all afterwards for any post operative instructions, only that same lady. I was rushed out onto the street from the side entrance and had to go back in to ask myself about when I would have to come back in through the front door to ask for post operative instructions and how to take care of the wound. I was fine enough to walk and wasn't in pain so I really do remember everything very clearly.
As soon as I got home I knew something was wrong with my nose. It just didn't look right even from under the cast. The next day when I went back to get the tampons out of my nose is when I asked about my crooked nostrils and short tip and he said it was going to straightenout after they took the splint off. Then that's also when he tells me he also performed a Septoplasty - which I had not asked for and had no problems breathing to begin with. He also told me he brought my nostrils closer together - another thing I didn't ask for. I was not even aware that this procedure was called and alarplasty and that it's irreversible (it's the procedure Michael Jackson had to the base of the nostrils). I didn't know this until I left the follow up appointment and googled it. Basically from the front I look completely different now and my nostrils are very crooked and too close together. All together this follow up appointment was just another 5-10 minutes and whenever I asked a question he talked over me. Then he rushed me out and on to the next patient. He did about seven Rhinoplasty's the day I got mine - at about $14,000 a procedure he is robbing people blind.
Now for my recovery week in NYC... It was super hot and although he had told me it would be fine for me to go out and explore I had my concerns. I texted him a few days later to ask if being out in over 100° weather was for sure okay because I felt like my splint was slipping off my face from sweating and he reassured me that it was. I went out to see the statue of liberty, the Brooklyn bridge etc because he said not to worry that it was fine. Honestly though my breathing was terrible but I figured it was because I was only a few days post-op. I didn't do much the rest of the days because I didn't feel good. Then the day my cast was removed I'll never forget being super excited and he sets me up to start taking post op pictures and starts recording my big reveal on IG live and I wanted to cry. It was awful. My nose was upturned, my nostril base looked awful, my nose just didn't look proportional to my face at all. My profile is awful too. I wanted my bump reduced but not a sloped nose or one that lacks projection. I was also very specific about not wanting my columella to show and not only does it show but it looks unnatural and awful. I was clearly immediately unhappy and concerned with the results so he stopped recording. He reassured me that this was all because it was so early on post op. I really hoped it was. About a week after flying back home I contacted their New Jersey office with concerns about my nostril base wounds and my left nostril being collapsed. I was told I would have a virtual consulation with Kassir but it was with the front desk lady (it was literally the person booking appointments who I had met when I was there when I signed in to remove my splint) and to make things worse she actually gave me medical advice on how to clean my wounds and how often to do saline rinses. Imagine a front desk employee giving you medical advice? I was clearly upset so she got Kassir on the the screen for probably less than a minute. He at least admitted that my nostril was a cause for concern and they would monitor it. I had another consulation scheduled a while later because I was still having issues and they didn't contact me so I contacted them and they had forgotten. I was rescheduled and didn't hear from them again. I was officially fed up and contacted doctors offices out here for advice. Not surprisingly not a single front desk worker from any other office gave me medical advice. I set up a few appointments with local doctors because my collapsed nostril was really concerning. All the doctors I contacted said they needed medical records and information about my surgery. So I called and sent emails requesting all my paperwork. I was ignored.
Finally I texted Brittani (my surgical coordinator) complaining about everything and also mentioned my digital images and then she says she'll have them send me everything including the images - so I reminded her they never did the digital imaging. She apologized and said they would send me any documents I needed. I told her exactly what I wanted and never heard from her again.
It has now been about a year and week after my surgery and I have not heard from them since I last contacted their office about eight months or more ago and I was told they would call me back. I also still haven't received any of the documents that I requested. My issues with my nose now are the same ones I was concerned about right after surgery and some new/worse ones. After the swelling subsided I've noticed so many more issues with my nose. My left nostril is collapsed and my left nostril wall entirely moves along with my breathing. That's when I can breathe out of my left nostril. I am out of breath almost all of the time which leads to me being tired a lot and I can no longer exercise like I used to. There's also a very clearly dent on the left side of my nose near the tip. Other than the dent the entire left side of my tip was overdidsected of cartilage. There's another strange dent on the center of the bridge of my nose. It's almost like he didn't break my nose to remove my bump but rather he cut it and there's an actual blunt line where my bump was. My columella is still crooked and droops. It's extremely visible when I smile and looks incredibly unnatural. The right side of my tip has a pointy ball and combined with the collapsed left side it makes my nose look crooked and slanted to the right. However the right side of my bridge has less cartilage than on the left center so it looks like curves on one side but straight on the other (clearly visible in the attached photos). Overall my nose is somehow more assymetrical than before my surgery. So I paid money to look worse.
After my surgery I connected with a lot of his prior patients who unfortunately also had poor results. One had a great revision after Kassir left her botched, another had twisted cartilage, another had the same columella issues as mine. Every girl also knew someone who had also been botched by him. One girl I met who ultimately went with another doctor actually told me he's notorious in New Jersey for botching people. I then realized that since he performs so many procedures and mine was one of seven of the day it was no wonder he has some occasional good results to post on his Instagram. Had I realized this sooner I would have never gone to him. Hoping to be the lucky one of the day or week is not a gamble I would be willing to make. I cancelled my wedding because of how weird my nose and smile look. I was so depressed I had to go to therapy. I spent so many days crying. I'm still paying for this horrible mistake which makes it even worse. I'm a lot better now mentally but still hate my nose and deeply regret it.
I also regret not doing more research. One of his prior patients pointed out to me that he was not actually a certified facial plastic surgeon! His certifications do not include facial plastic surgery. He's basically just an ENT who took a few extra courses to perform plastic surgery and because of loopholes is able to perform facial plastic surgery but isn't actually certified to do so. Don't take my word for it though- you can search for his name here : https://www.abfprs.org and I guarantee you won't find it because he's not a certified facial plastic surgeon although it even says he is one on his Real Self account. Rhinoplasty is actually considered the most difficult plastic surgery to perform and the consequences of a poor surgery can be painstakingly difficult and expensive to correct. I have contacted a few certified doctors and revisions cost about or over $20,000. This is also when I realized he charges way too much for primary rhinoplasties, especially considering he doesn't perform high quality work. I am still paying for my over $14,000 procedure.
If you're considering going to Kassir but have doubts or concerns feel free to contact me at my personal phone number and I will be happy to send you photos or FaceTime you so you can see my awful results in real time and hopefully keep you from making the terrible mistake I made trusting him with my face. Instagram is a place where people only show the best parts of their lives and similarly Kassir shows his better work. Do your research and don't fall for his Instagram marketing. Do yourself a favor and go to a certified facial plastic surgeon.
