Happy Nose, Happy Girl!

Happy Nose, Happy Girl!

WORTH IT

Dr. Reish is truly one-of-a-kind. For a doctor of his caliber, he could probably charge top dollar for a consultation and surgery. However, from the moment you meet Dr. Reish, it's extremely apparent that he's not in it for the money, but for the life-changing work he does for his patients. That should be your first clue that this is 100% the doctor you should choose to do your rhinoplasty. I found Dr. Reish through social media, but not because I was served with ads or overly-edited images. I've wanted a nose job since I was 12, so I had done my fair share of searching for NYC's top rhinoplasty surgeons. One of his cases popped up in my search and I was blown away. The nose looked natural, yet stunning.

Cut to, I get to Dr. Reish's profile on Instagram and see that a friend from my past was following him. I messaged her to see if there was any connection and to my surprise, she told me he had done her revision rhinoplasty. I didn't even realize she had gotten her nose done from the pictures on social media, so I was immediately impressed. She raved about him and his work, so I set up a consultation immediately.

My consultation with Dr. Reish was amazing. He charges nothing, yet he is completely devoted to giving you his full attention and answering all of your questions. He's conservative, studying your features, letting you tell him what bothers you and then he will make recommendations based on what he sees. My nose was never terrible to begin with, but he and I agreed that it could be refined ever-so-slightly to give my face a more feminine balance. Regardless, he made me feel confident in my appearance even without the rhinoplasty and that is sign #2. My Mom and I left the office feeling so great that he never pushed, he focused on natural beauty and his credentials (Harvard Medical School and Chief Resident of Plastic Surgery at Mass General) made him the dream surgeon. Additionally, he doesn't believe in the use of computer imaging to show patients what their nose is going to "look like" as it potentially gives a false impression that can lead to disappointment. That's one of the main reasons why he specializes in revision rhinoplasties, in addition to his impeccable technical work, which made me feel even more confident getting my primary rhinoplasty done with him.

From the time of my consultation in winter 2020 to my surgery in July, Dr. Reish and his team were incredible every step of the way. He answered all questions I had, put up with my irrational fear that we weren't thinking of my future nose in the same way (we were) and truly made me feel like a priority.

As someone who's never had surgery, I was terrified of being put under general anesthesia. To make things harder, COVID prevented me (as a non-minor) from having one of my parents wait with me prior to surgery (I completely understand given the level of cleanliness they maintain). However, his entire staff took the time to reassure me that I was in the best hands, I got to talk to the anesthesiologist and then when it was surgery time, they all had me comforted and focused elsewhere as I slowly drifted into dreamland. I genuinely don't remember even falling asleep and when I woke up, I was able to walk myself to the bathroom and then get wheeled to the car to go home.

The 6 days post-op until my cast removal weren't that bad. I was in more pressure than pain, so I did wind up taking some of my pain medication, but definitely nowhere near the full prescription. I slept well at night and actually enjoyed having the drip pad in addition to my splint as it made me feel more secure and less worried that I'd bump my new nose. The grossest part is looking at yourself with a dirty drip pad, but that's honestly the worst of it. My bruising and swelling was very minimal.

The day of cast removal, I prepared myself for the worst. I thought my nose would swell and I'd cry at what I just did to my nose. However, Rachel and Dr. Reish gently removed my splint, explained everything and then showed me his masterpiece. I was in awe. It barely looked swollen and it was exactly what I wanted. It's been 5 months since then and I've gone in for 2 follow-up visits to make sure I'm progressing. Each time, the staff welcomes me with open arms and the results get better and better.

I'm so glad I made the decision to finally get my rhinoplasty done, but even more so that I chose Dr. Reish. My family was not thrilled with me getting the surgery, but they've now told me I look even more beautiful than before (my grandma's words). To top it off, one of my friends (who's seen a number of rhinoplasties) told me I got the best, most natural nose job she's ever seen. For someone searching for a natural, yet beautiful result, the praise is just added assurance that I made the right choice. I will forever be indebted to Dr. Reish for not only the nose he's given me, but the confidence this surgery has given me to feel pretty for the first time in a long time (not in a conceded way).

Thank you Dr. Reish, Rachel and the entire LIPSG staff for taking such good care of me, for giving me the nose of my dreams and the confidence to walk with my head held high. I'm the luckiest!

I PMed you!!
Thank you for this review! I am currently in the "irrational stage" fearing we aren't on the same page aesthetically (even though I've sent photos and felt confident during the pre-op). My surgery is next week so the nerves are creeping in but this definitely helps! Your results are gorgeous and exactly what I'd expect from Dr. Reish. I hope to have just as amazing of an experience as you. Happy continued healing!
Hi KKB! I'm now 6 months out of surgery and I wouldn't change a thing. Dr. Reish is truly top notch in terms of surgeons and while I can totally understand the unnerving piece, I put my faith in the fact that we had discussed similar goals for my nose in my pre-op consultation and from studying his other cases, I couldn't pick a nose I didn't like. His result is natural, but beautiful. Not to boast, but I've literally been told by people that I've gotten the best nose job they've ever seen and that they would have no idea I got surgery if I didn't mention it, just that I seem more confident and my other features (like my eyes) are really standing out now. I know it's challenging when going into a surgery without someone drawing up exactly what your nose is going to look like, but it's so much better than having something "promised' and then being let down by the results. Dr. Reish is fantastic and, as a very nervous patient, everything about my experience exceeded my expectations. You are in great hands and I'm confident that you will love your result. Wishing you a quick and easy procedure/recovery and I can't wait to see your results!! <3
Thank you so much! This is so good to hear. And your pictures speak for themselves..so gorgeous. Your result is exactly what I'm hoping for, my nose isn't terrible but it's distracting and I just want something subtle enough to open up my face and bring attention to my other features. I know from seeing his photos he can do that for me but, like you, I can be a nervous person. Ahh can't wait until I'm on the other side! So so glad to hear that you still love your result 6 months out. I can't wait to hear how you're doing after a full year. Thanks again!
