I finally had the courage to go ahead

After many years of wanting a nose job, I finally had the courage to go ahead.
I am currently 10 weeks post op and how I feel about my nose changes from time to time. As I have thick skin, I am still swollen although I had a closed rhinoplasty. Dr Rochira used preservation rhinoplasty which is a less traumatic technique therefore the recovery was very good. I didn’t have bones broken, just rasp used to ‘shave’ off some bone and mainly tip work done. The cast and splints were removed on day 5. When removed, I felt much better. I will update the review and post pictures as time goes by

Hiya, I’m wanting basically what you had done, I’m wanting my tip making slightly smaller and my ‘hump’ shaving down, can I ask how much you paid? I’m really interested in this surgeon and just wanted to know a price before booking a consultation as I know if I book one then hear a price, I’ll want it ASAP and I’d rather have some money saved up first so I can get it done sooner! Thank you

Hi there. Mine cost £7000 plus £100 consultation fees but obviously he may quote you differently based on how much work is done x

Do it when ur ready and do your research carefully. I did my research for a few years! There are very good surgeons out there but plastic surgery is like art. Some surgeons might like a dramatic look whilst others like a more natural look. Have a look at before and after pics and see what you like x

Thank you. Can’t seem to find any other surgeon in UK that does the preservation method and I think Dr Rochira has it right when the natural look. Also can I ask how is this recovery after? This is the most scariest bit for me, the pain and did you have to sleep up in bed not lying down? Sorry but no one ever mentions the recovery for preservation rhinoplasty. I would love details thanks so much for the previous reply!

The other preservation rhinoplasty specialist in U.K. is Charles East but his prices start from £9500! Also he seems to do more open procedures judging from his Instagram and I wanted closed

Hi. Pain is minimal.- took paracetamol only although they gave me co-codamol on discharge and the pain for me was just a headache from the swelling pressure. Also took arnica tablets for bruising. I had to sleep with a high pillow and on my back obviously which is ok if ur used to sleeping on ur back (I sleep on my front!!). For me it was the tired feeling from the anaesthetic that bothered me but after the 5th day I felt I had more energy, especially after cast was removed I think the fact that I liked the result helped give me a boost! You will need a full time carer for a week after surgery as you’ll have no energy to do anything. That’s how I felt but everyone recovers differently x

Steroid injections

daisey007
Sorry for the slow updates.... been quite busy! So a month or two ago I disliked my new nose. It lacked definition post op and I felt that the surgery was a complete waste as the difference was extremely minor and my nose was still too big for my face. I contacted Dr Rochira who explained that as I have thick skin I may not see the results I want but also explained that I need at least 1 year to see better results. He said he will see me as soon as lockdown restrictions are lifted which he did. So I saw him on Saturday and I had steroid injections to my nose to help reduce swelling and internal scarring. I hope to see a difference 2 weeks post injection. It’s very common for people with thick skin to have steroid injections as thick skin retains swelling much longer. Fingers crossed I see even more definition after the injections. Dr Rochira says if I see a benefit I would have another shot after 6 weeks to improve the results further. Looking at my nose and by touching it, I can already feel a slight improvement which is very reassuring. Will post more updates after 2 weeks

Steroid injections work!

daisey007
Ok so after 2 weeks from having the steroid injections I can confirm they work! My nose looks more refined after the injection. My family have noticed the change too. I feel that the front view of my nose Is much better now. Advice for thick skin patient: ask your surgeon about steroid injections! I’ll post pictures hopefully soon
