I am a 31 year old trans woman from Australia and decided to start looking at my available options in Korea as the options for FFS in Australia are severely limited and travelling to somewhere like America would be well over 100k for me.

To have a look at potential places that could perform the surgery for me and their results I used reddit, purse forum, Gangnam Unnie and Sungyesa. I looked at numerous plastic surgery places in Korea and made a list of who I liked,  however Girin particularly stood out to me as they had really nice before and after pictures.

I contacted Girin through whatsapp and sent some pictures of myself expressing what I wanted to have feminised and my particular areas of concern and they gave me recommendations on what they thought would be best. During my consultation the translator and surgical representative were very knowledgeable and gave me great advice. I expressed to them what I wanted and they were able to convey my needs to the Doctors. I also didn’t feel pressured into having any extra unnecessary procedures, I was actually recommended to not have one of the procedures I wanted and to come back at a later time as this would give me better results, which gave me confidence the doctors were looking out for my best interests.

Procedures I had:

Square jaw contouring + chin reduction with Dr Lee Seung Ryong

Neck liposuction and plastysma muscle tightening to address any skin laxity from the Jaw contouring with Dr Lee Seung Ryong

Rhinoplasty with Dr Jeon Ji-in

and 5 point forehead/brow lifting using endotine with Dr Jeon Ji-in

Overall I am very happy with my results! I feel so much more confident going out in public and I no longer feel as though I get any odd looks from strangers, I could pass before but I would still get some strange looks every now and again, however this doesn’t happen anymore. My features look so much more softer and feminine now compared to before. I still have quite a bit of swelling in my neck and nose tip however it can take up to a year sometimes longer to see the final full results and I tend to swell badly after surgery.

One thing I would recommend for anyone going to Korea is to take someone with you or look into any available nursing services! I went by myself and the recovery was very intense! Especially the first 3-4 days. Also if you have a Dr who is able to prescribe you some good pain relief before you go and you are able to have clearance to bring it into the country do that as the pain relief I was given was not very effective.

I feel like Dr Lee Seung Ryong and Dr Jeon Ji-in went out of their way to make me look feminine and beautiful, during my consult with them they were very attentive and made me feel like they cared about the end result and that my opinions mattered. I had had some other consultations with different clinics before that were bad however the translator, surgical rep and doctors  at Girin all made me feel very reassured. If you have pictures of someone with your desired face shape or features that you like or edits of yourself, definitely bring these along! I did this and they printed them out for reference during my surgery day.

Overall I am very happy with my results and cant wait to keep seeing the improvements in my face as each month goes by. If you have any questions, please reach out to me! I will update this thread with more pictures as I progress.
