Dr. C. Torgerson

I underwent rhinoplasty, a procedure I had wanted for over 20 years, with Dr. Torgerson in the summer of 2020. I researched surgeons very carefully and finally settled on Dr. T because I was impressed with how thorough and informative the consultation was in terms of what my nose could look like. The vectra 3D imaging really helped to give me an idea of the potential outcome I could expect. I highly recommend spending the extra money and having this done. My healing went smoothly and I wasn't in too much pain post-surgery. I definitely looked worse than I felt because of the swelling and bruising, which I expected and was fine with. Everyone at the clinic was friendly and accommodating from the very beginning. This was appreciated because I am an out-of-town patient and had to book an entire stay (hotel/plane/cabs, etc). in Toronto. Overall- a really good experience. I am happy with my results so far and look forward to the time when my nose is fully healed. It is 5 weeks post-op now- currently I still have some dark circles under the eyes (from the bruising), some nasal congestion and a small irregularity (lump) on the left side of my nostril (maybe from the swelling) which I hope will resolve in 6-12 months. I am patient with my recovery and eating well/exercising to stay healthy and help my body do its job with the healing process.
One recommendation is this: I had a cast-removal appointment 7 days post-procedure, which I naturally assumed would be overseen by Dr. Torgerson himself so that he could view his work on my face and we could discuss any concerns/the next steps for me. I was very surprised when it was rather one of the clinic nurses who tended to me. She was very kind and I appreciated her work, however it bothered me that nobody had mentioned the fact that Dr. Torgerson wouldn't even be at this critical first appointment post-surgery. I would suggest that patients be clearly made aware of this during a consultation so that there aren't any surprises such as what I experienced.
