Progress Selfies (no makeup).
Had my surgery 3.5 weeks ago. I’m sharing some progress selfies (no makeup!) I know my nose is still pretty swollen, and I have tons of healing ahead -but I already love the results!!
Progress Photos (Still early in recovery).
Rhinoplasty – Look no further, Dr. Richard Reish is the best! Here is my long but genuine experience with Dr. Reish!
Words cannot express my gratitude for Dr. Reish and his entire staff for my rhinoplasty experience. This was my very first surgery (ever), and I know with all my heart that I could not have been in better hands. Rhinoplasty is something I’ve wanted my whole life. Had I not come across Dr. Reish’s profile, credentials, expertise, and the hundreds of before and after photos on his website, I would still be researching and contemplating the procedure to this day. I say this, with all honesty, I made up my mind about going ONLY to Dr. Reish for my rhinoplasty the moment I came across his website and even before our consultation! (This may sound naïve to many, but I was THAT confident after researching Dr. Reish’s credentials.) I know people say you should have consultations with at least 3 or 4 surgeons, but I feel lucky that I came across Dr. Reish’s profile in my journey and only had a consultation with him. The consultation was virtual (Dr. Reish does not charge for his consultations), it was short and sweet. Dr. Reish knew exactly what I wanted, explained his plans for me; functional and cosmetic, he considered my input, provided advice, allowed for me to ask any questions, and did not rush me at all during the consultation. I really did not have many questions at the time, but he provided his cell number, and I was able to text Dr. Reish with any questions even after our consultation.
Dr. Reish is very open about pricing on his website and on Instagram. Him and his staff are very helpful in guiding patients on working with insurance to cover the medical portion of their procedure if necessary (severe deviated septum, alar collapse, or breathing issues requiring nasal reconstruction). Soon after my consultation with Dr. Reish, I booked my surgery. Melissa was my patient coordinator; she was extremely helpful! Dr. Reish discussed the surgical plan with me at the preoperative appointment as well, and I texted Dr. Reish several times before my surgery with questions and concerns, he was always responsive. I discussed likes and dislikes and I also shared some inspiration photos with him. Dr. Reish is a genuine, kindhearted, and honest surgeon. He never promised unrealistic results, and he truly ensured that I got the best possible result in accordance with my desired goals. Dr. Reish is a perfectionist, and this comes through in his genuine individualized care and surgical technique. He also does not provide simulated photos of your nose “to show what your nose will look like after the surgery.” There are always discrepancies between simulated/photoshopped images and real post-operative results (I’m so glad he does not offer 3D imaging, simulated, or photoshopped images, as my expectations were managed realistically, and I never felt misguided). Alternatively, Dr. Reish encourages that you to go through the before and after photos of surgeries he has performed himself (on his website or on his Instagram), paying special attention to before and after photos of noses that look like yours, and then use those as references. I have not come across any other surgeons in this world (and I’ve researched many surgeons) who have as many amazing post-operative results to showcase!
The day of surgery I was so nervous, but my nurse Angelica was super sweet and informative (the whole staff was). I met with Dr. Reish and Dr. Freudman (the anesthesiologist) right before my surgery. Dr. Freudman was very kind, helpful, and assuring, as I was nervous about anesthesia (it was my first time going under). Soon after, Jenny (another amazing nurse) came in and took me over to the operating room. The last thing I remember was the staff talking to me about Beetlejuice (yes, the movie) while being prepped for anesthesia, I think the staff was actually singing a song from the movie, they were so calm and positive, this really made me feel comfortable. They were extremely sweet. I closed my eyes, and the next thing I remember was waking up in the recovery room, surrounded by staff, and the procedure was successfully over! The care I received was impeccable. Dr. Reish checked in with me several times after the surgery. He also made sure to text me on several days following the surgery. I also received check in calls from Debbie (a kind nurse), as well as Dr. Freudman, before and after the surgery. The hardest day of recovery (day 3 post-op for me) was on a Sunday. I felt hesitant to text Dr. Reish, which was completely foolish of me as he welcomes texts from his patients! I just thought, you know, it’s a Sunday, he’s human, and deserves a break. BUT it meant the world to me that as I was contemplating texting him on this “sacred Sunday,” he himself texted me and checked in on me. *Tear of Joy* I really needed that! He gave me advice and answered my questions. He truly cares, and that in itself, made my healing journey better. Yesterday, I finally got my cast removed, and although my nose is swollen, I already love it! If I could give Dr. Reish (and his entire staff) an infinity star rating I would! I am beyond happy with my experience, I am only 8-days post-op. Yes, there is swelling, but I am happy with what we’ve achieved, and I cannot wait for the swelling to go down in the coming months!
Dr. Reish is known as the nose god for valid reasons – he changed my life!
I cannot thank you enough Dr. Reish!
