How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.

Rhinoplasty
So incredibly swollen but this was taken day 6 post op (day of my cast removal)
This is going to be an extremely long review, but I promise it will be worth the read for anyone considering rhinoplasty with Dr. Reish.
Choosing Dr. Reish as my surgeon: This is something I've wanted done for over a decade now and I had previously met with 2 other surgeons over the course of the past 3 years (we'll call them Surgeon 1 and Surgeon 2) prior to meeting with Dr. Reish in the summer of 2020. Surgeon 1 told me that I had a severely deviated septum. Surgeon 2 told me that I did not have a deviated septum, but instead had enlarged nasal turbinates. After expressing my insecurities with the tip of my nose (which was overly projected and drooping with alar retraction), I was told my both Surgeon 1 and Surgeon 2 that there was "simply nothing that could be done about that." I was extremely discouraged for over a year at that point until I found Dr. Reish on RealSelf. It sounds dramatic, but I swear I spent hours across several days and even weeks reading every single one of his reviews and looking at his before and after pictures and video updates on both his website and Instagram. I was shocked by how many noses like mine he had seemed to completely perfect (which, remember, I was told elsewhere from other surgeons that this was not possible *eye roll*). I immediately messaged Dr. Reish on Instagram to schedule a free virtual consultation. He texted me via his own personal cell phone number and FaceTimed me a few days later. I was absolutely blown away by how much clarity he was able to provide me during this virtual visit alone. He explained and showed me why yes, my septum is deviated and actually led to nasal valve collapse. He explained things using proper medical terminology (which made googling everything he was saying that I wrote down in my notes so quick and easy and aided my process of gathering information) and did not dumb things down, which I SO appreciated, but somehow did so in a way that makes complete sense to my non-surgeon self. I never once felt rushed during the consultation, and I knew that day that I had found the doctor for me for my rhinoplasty/septoplasty procedure (I cried the day I got the call to set the date, and I am NOT a crier by any means).
Pre-op/surgery day: Everyone from the office, including Dr. Reish, was outstanding answering my excessive questions (sorry but thank you all so much - you helped ease a very anxious patient's ruminating pre-operative nervous thoughts). The day of surgery was a breeze. Granted, everyone's experience is different at this point; However, Dr. Reish's anesthesiologist was the BEST anesthesiologist I've ever had (coming from my 26 year old self who has a lifelong history of motion sickness, and has ended up sick from anesthesia post-operatively after each of the 3 knee surgeries I've had over the past 10 years). I seriously woke up craving a Big Mac and large fries (my mom won't let me forget it) and remember just wanting to move on out of there to head home to sleep in my own bed for all of eternity (or at least the next few days). No nausea, no pain, and the most AMAZING nursing staff dream team I've ever had (thank you all so much!). I was in and out of recovery in about an hour and after a 1.5 hour car ride I was starving and immediately ate 2 cans of soup when I got home. To my surprise I could actually taste it, stuffy nose and all, which was an added bonus!
Post-op day1-day5: This was the easiest recovery process I have ever experienced. I have a high pain tolerance, so I didn't take the prescription pain meds except for at night because they helped me sleep. Even without them though sleeping was surprisingly a breeze. I slept upright with no problem (honestly I think I slept for 4 days straight - and when I wasn't sleeping I was eating lentil soup). Considering that I am one of those types of people who wakes up with random gnarly looking bruises without having a clue where they came from, I expected my bruising to be BAD. This couldn't have been more untrue. I had some slight yellowing in the corner of my eyes and under my eyes by day 3 (I'll upload a picture of what it looked like at its worst throughout the entire 6 days with the cast on) but that was it. Normal amount of swelling otherwise I'd say. I didn't have packing or splints so I was able to start breathing a little out of my nose by day 3 and by day 5 I woke up realizing I was actually not even breathing out of my mouth again. Tip: Biotene dry mouth spray and lip balm will be your best friends when you're nose is still stuffed and you're breathing out of your mouth.
Post-op day 6, cast removal day: I got my cast removed and stitches out yesterday and it was such a quick and painless experience thanks to Dr. Reish's amazing PA! As a healthcare worker myself, I can say hands down that this entire team has the best patient rapport I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Even though my nose is SO swollen right now, I'm thrilled with the results (I'll post pictures from this day, too). My incision site scars are already so minimal it's shocking! I'll be back in the office again in 2 months for another follow up once the majority of the major swelling has gone down and will update my review here with additional pictures then!
Overall: Dr. Reish is the BEST. His skill, attention to detail, and patient rapport is unparalleled. You just won't find anyone like him anywhere else and I whole heartedly believe that. Thank you Dr. Reish and thank you to your incredibly team! This has been the greatest experience ever and I'm so happy to have finally found a surgeon with your expertise and kindness. You have absolutely changed my life in the best way and I cannot thank you enough! If you're on the fence like I was for so long - I promise you, Dr. Reish is THE surgeon to go to. Best of luck to everyone else with their rhinoplasty journey!
