Dr. Harmych Changed My Life
WORTH IT
To say Dr. Harmych changed my life would be an understatement. I found him through researching plastic surgeons in the Cleveland area. After months of research, I booked consultations with two doctors. The first doctor was extremely impersonal and wanted to make drastic changes to my appearance. His approach was very invasive and would've left me out of work for roughly 3 weeks. I left that appointment unsure if I even wanted to go through with rhinoplasty anymore. My face had been picked apart and my confidence was even lower after that appointment.
I met with Dr. Harmych the following week and I ended up scheduling the surgery that day. He took the time to meet myself and my family and answer as many questions as he could. Our first consultation lasted over an hour! His approach is significantly less invasive, would not leave scars on the outside of my nose, and the bulk of the recovery time was cut in half. Both surgeons had suggested a chin augmentation, but Dr. Harmych's suggestion was much more "simple" and required a lot less down time. He opted for a small chin implant, which truly made a huge impact on my appearance. The great thing about a chin implant is it can be reversed at any time if needed/wanted. My family and myself felt extremely confident in his work and his bedside manner. I'm an anxious person by nature, but he explained the process in such detail that I found myself counting down the days until surgery without fear or hesitation. Dr. Harmych's staff, Ivanka especially, took amazing care of me before and after surgery. I was even surprised with a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a little "pick me up" during recovery. They truly go above and beyond to make sure their patients have a good experience. She took an interest in my journey and has kept in touch continuously to see how things are going. Dr. Harmych and his staff are genuine people who are very passionate about their work. They are truly there to change lives, not to make as much money as they can as I experienced with other surgeons. The day of surgery went exactly as planned. Dr. Harmych checked in on me and my family right before surgery began and made sure there were no hesitations or concerns. I felt very little pain throughout the recovery process. Honestly, the most painful part was my throat feeling a bit sore after being intubated during surgery. Sleeping upright was a challenge at first but you get used to it. I experienced very minimal swelling and no bruising....I was amazed! I only took the pain medication as instructed on day one and outside of that a very small amount of Tylenol (really just for peace of mind, not for unbearable pain). The pain was extremely minor and recovery was much easier than anticipated. I felt as though I had a slight head cold. Breathing through your mouth is an odd experience but you get used to it for the time being.I am almost at my one year mark and I do not regret my decisions in the slightest. My profile has been enhanced but overall I still feel and look like myself! I have gained so much confidence throughout this journey and it truly has changed my life. I have struggled with this insecurity for 25 years and I am so glad I made this decision.
