ORIGINAL POST
Rhinoplasty with Dr Alpaslan Yildrim in Turkey
I am now 11 months post op and I'm writing this review with complete regret that I ever went with Yildrim.
It is quite easy to become blinded and excited by Instagram photos that depict a perfect surgery and a perfect nose. I now realise that you cannot use Instagram photos solely to help you choose a surgeon, you must meet up with them beforehand if possible to make an informed decision!
Anyway, so May 2019. After viewing all the photos of other ethnic patients who appeared to have had good results and also speaking to past patients, I decided on Yildrim.
I live in the Uk, and I wasn't offered a video consultation beforehand, I was simply told to book my flights to turkey and then when I arrived, I would meet my surgeon the following day.
The first red flag was when we got to the airport. I was hounded by Yildrims assistant telling me to "hurry up" because they were waiting. As you all know, when travelling you have no control over flight times or when your luggage will be released. This should have already been a sign for me to forget the surgery....
When our luggage finally got given to us, we went to go and meet Yildrim's assistant, but low and behold we couldn't find him - which was ironic since he was telling us to hurry up. When we finally found him, he was having a conversation with another gentleman and when we tried to make ourselves known he was very dismissive of us and exceptionally rude, telling us to wait! This should have been the second warning sign.
Anyway, the consultation with Alpaslan Yildrim on the second day was very, very hurried. I met two other girls there, and I would say we all had our consultations in fifteen minutes.
My nose was very wide with lots of nostril show and I asked for this to be rectified as I wanted my nostrils to be less visible. He showed me an ex patient of his who's nose looked like what I would have envisioned on myself on Instagram and was adamant that he could do what I asked. He seemed confident, so I didn't question anything.
Fast forward to surgery day. The two people doing the anaesthesia did not make me feel comfortable at all. They were speaking in Turkish and laughing and I felt as though they were talking about me! This is not how you want to feel just before going under.
On day 6 or so, I got to see my nose. It was a mix of emotion. I didn't know how to feel. My nostrils looked like that had been cut out of my nose with scissors. My nostrils from the side view were too scooped out, but of course the dr said this was swelling and it would heal. Who am I to question a dr, right? So I just left it as that.
Im 11 months now and can safely say that this is not just swelling! This is just an awful nose! My tip has been lifted way too high, so I now look like a pig. My nostrils are disgustingly asymmetrical and one seems to be retracting. My tip resembles a ball and is still hard to touch, not to mention that when I smile my nose looks like a triangle.
I paid all this money to look the complete opposite of what I asked for, and now I have to search to find a surgeon who is able to repair this mess. I have been to two consultations with British surgeons who were able to see the errrors that have been made to my nose right away.
There's a lot more I could say about this experience, but I believe I have covered the most important points.
I will wish you could see my nose, as it's even worse in real life....
Personally, I wouldn't recommend Alpaslan yildrim!
Good luck with your search.

Hello. Sorry to her you're in the same predicament It's awful isn't it, and really lowers your self esteem. I'll pm you x
I was so ready to book with him too! Your nose doesn't look like any of his rhino pics on his insta. Not that it looks bad tho! Did he post your OR pics? Did u like your immediate after b4 & after pics from the OR?
Not doubting your nose is not what you expected but those pictures don’t reflect an ugly nose it looks cute from those pictures
Can you show us before photos? And how your nose looks right now?
IMHO your Nose looks very good and cute...
