I Had a Brilliant Experience with Julian - 100% Reccomend
WORTH IT
I have wanted rhinoplasty for so long as I was so self conscious about my side profile (dorsal hump). I had an amazing experience with Julian and the Nose Clinic. I chose Julian because it was so important to me that:
1. The surgeon is a nose specialist (which Julian definitely is!)
2. I wanted a natural result - and his before & afters on his website showed me just that
Communication - Sam and Lisa at the practice are so lovely, friendly and helpful. They came back to me on everything, appointment times, questions, etc so quickly.
Consultation
I had a consultation with another surgeon before I found Julian and I can tell you the difference was HUGE. The consultation with the first doctor (not JRJ) was so rushed. With Julian and his team it was so thorough and professional. It started with a conversation with Emma where we went through my reasons for wanting surgery, the risks, what can be achieved and my medical history. I then met Julian, which was amazing. He is not only an expert but also a truly lovely person. He gave a very thorough examination of my nose and took photos. When we were discussing my desired outcome, he was editing the image on a huge screen. This was so helpful as it meant that there was no confusion / blind spot between us on what I was looking for. The morphe was exactly what I had in my head, and I left the consultation with EVERYTHING i needed - information pack, pricing, and my morphe images.
I had to have a consultation with a psychologist - again, this demonstrated to me that the Nose Clinic want to make sure it is right for you.
I was entirely confident with the idea of having surgery with Julian and decided to book in.
Procedure
My Surgery was on a Friday last March at Cadogan clinic. I was in and out in a day and it was a great experience. Both Julian and the Anaesthetist (Mr Jones I think he was called!) were so lovely and calming. I feel like I blinked and I was in the recovery room with 0 pain. I had a small soft meal (which Cadogan pre-order from PRET!), and Julian came in to see me before I left to tell me how it went and give me guidance on aftercare. I felt very well looked after.
Recovery
How I felt - honestly, I have felt worse with a mild cold. There was no pain at all.
How I looked - this surprised me the most. I have put off rhinoplasty for so long because i thought i would need to find 2 weeks to “hide away” after blogs and YouTube videos showing people with blown up purple faces. Testament to Julian there was not a spot of red or purple on my face (even though my nose had to be broken!!) I am no medical expert, but i think this shows that Julian REALLY knows what he is doing with noses. I just had a very small cast on (and nothing stuffed up my nostrils!). I saw my close friends a week after surgery and they had no idea I’d had it done.
My Cast was off on Day 5 (Wednesday) and it didn’t hurt at all. When my cast was off, nobody could have noticed I had been under the knife. Julian and Emma were very quick to respond to any questions or worries I had after cast off day.
Conclusion - I love my nose. It is natural, it is straight, and it is just a pretty nose! Side profile is exactly the same as the morphe that Julian created. I no longer feel self conscious when someone is sat next to me or someone has a camera near the side of my face.
