Terrible Experience, my Requests Were Not Listened to and my Outcome is Very Poor

Absolutely gutted with the experience I have had with a primary rhinoplasty done by Charles East. Despite numerous consultations, he didn't follow anything we discussed in the surgery and majorly de-projected my nose making it appear piggy with no definition. Not only this but I now have a bump on my bridge that I didn't have prior to surgery? The whole purpose was to give me a nice slope not create a saddle deformity. My breathing has got worse, and I have excessive scar tissue creating a wide bridge and a bulbous overall look. Considering I paid £13,000 for this surgery i'm absolutely devastated and wish I had gone to a far more experienced surgeon. I am now having to look for a revision with another surgeon as Charles refuses to accept my concerns and his bad work. I was quoted I would have to pay £20,000 for a revision by Charles (who let me add I wouldn't let touch my nose ever again if you paid me) to fix his mistakes. utterly appalling. I can't even get an appointment with him without paying £200 to again try to fix his mess. Please avoid at all costs, there are so many more highly skilled surgeons in London charging so much less!!!!

Whilst I always welcome reviews and look at them as a way to improve, this one is so far removed from how we work that all the clinical and non clinical team at Rhinoplasty London feel saddened this person has chosen to not engage with myself or the practice. We always have an open door policy in the first year for patients to return and will listen to genuine concerns, working to find a solution. I completely refute the statement around ‘bad work’ and untruths stated about costings of my revisions. Every surgeon gets problems and I never dismiss mine. Our terms and conditions are clear on the policy.
You will see from other reviews this is an exception. Zoe9678 if you are genuine please reach out to office@eastandbadia.com.
Gosh, are you able to share any pics (even just the nose)? He comes highly recommended in London.
Oh my God! Same thing happened to me! He did something completely different to what I thought was agreed on but kept reassuring me it would change as it healed. Well, it didn’t and when I expressed my disappointment at the last follow-up appointment, he became very unpleasant. According to him, it was all in my head, told me I was negative, needed counselling and said I had not been a good candidate! I was actually very calm and polite, but he took terrible affront, and I was kind of ushered out of his office with him saying he would not recommend revision implying there was something wrong with me for not loving the result. It was quite a shocking experience.
I’ve been following this as I was actively considering a revision with Mr East myself.

For context, I recently contacted the clinic and was told they don’t work with health insurance, which may be relevant for some patients, particularly where breathing issues are involved.

Reading both sides, what gives me pause is the reliance on terms and conditions in the response. That doesn’t tend to instil confidence. Most prospective patients are looking for reassurance around clinical judgement, communication and accountability, not policy language.

The one year open door policy also feels quite limited given rhinoplasty can take well over a year to fully settle. Many patients only begin to properly understand their result and any potential issues after that point.

As someone still doing due diligence, clarity around how concerns are genuinely handled over time, especially in complex revision cases, is just as important as surgical results.

I’d really welcome further transparency from the clinic on how this works in practice.

Wishing the original reviewer the best with whatever they decide to do next.
