Such an Unethical Experience Please Read This Review.

I really don't like to leave negative reviews, but I wanted to detail my experience here as I honestly wish I had read this before going to Dr. Miller. I had a rhinoplasty done with Dr. Miller a few years ago, when I was 18-19 years old. There are a lot of things I could say, but I want to focus on the main reasons for this review: I feel like Dr. Miller acted unethically after botching my nose and basically denying it.

When I went to Dr. Miller, I had a very deviated septum and wanted my breathing fixed, as well as remove a dorsal hump/refine the tip. He suggested I didn't actually need a septoplasty only the turbioplasty. Although 2 other doctors disagreed with this, at 19 I really didn't know any better. Immediately after I had my cast taken off I knew my nose wan't going to be exactly what I wanted- it was way too projected and looked like a "plastic surgery nose". At the time I was fine with it, as it look better than before and I would wait for the swelling to go down. HOWEVER, right away my breathing was barely better if at all. Over the next few years, the swelling went down a ton, but my nose was getting more and more crooked (see photos). From the front it is very noticeable, and both side profiles looked very different. At one point I realized you could see my septum if I looked up. When I would breath in my nostrils were very uneven and would suck in and my columella was stuck out, it made so self conscious it was obvious I had my nose done. Eventually, I went back to Dr. Miller to address these issues.... Dr. Miller examined my nose and basically told me that "these things happen" and it was because my facial muscles are so uneven that my nose was pulled to the side (which I now know to be a complete lie). He said put in some filler to hid the giant dent in nose and that was it. He never said it could be fixed, he never mentioned a revision, and he never admitted to me what I now know is truly wrong with my nose. Now, after seeing 2 more rhinoplasty surgeons, I know that (from what they said) I CLEARLY have a nasal valve collapse causing no airflow in my nostril and a crooked nose (caused by taking too much out of my nose), a perforated septum, and a very severe deviated septum. And that is only the structural issues! They also both said my tip was way too projected for what he took off my bridge, the columella stuck out a significant amount. When I told these doctors what Dr. Miller told me about my "asymmetry" they were outright appalled.

Now, it would be one thing if this happened and Dr. Miller addressed or at least told me I had these issues when I went back to him. BUT HE DIDN'T. I was alone and young and I feel so taken advantage of. He basically rushed me out the door, no follow up to address my breathing issues, nothing. I've had friends who have had issues after a procedure, but their surgeons had told them themselves and worked to fix it. I find it so unethical that Dr. Miller didn't do this-especially since he was with a medical student at the time!

My parents were kind enough to pay the 16k for this surgery the first time. Finding out I need to pay more than $23k again just to fix my nose is really upsetting. Hopefully this helps anyone researching doctors.

I very strongly advice against having a rhinoplasty with Dr. Miller. However, If you're going to go with through with it, the one thing I will say is be very specific about what you want & go with a friend or family member. He tends to dominate the conversation and rush through the consultation, so having someone to also ask questions may help.

Happy to answer any questions, show more photos, or discuss my experience/ my revision doctor further!
