Severely crooked - uneven nostrils and exaggerated columella

Dr David completely ruined my face. My nose is now severely crooked, with extremely uneven nostrils and an exaggerated columella from a graft he placed there. He did tell me he *might* decide to add a graft, but he didn’t fully inform me on what that would mean. For the months before surgery he’d been telling me how I’d be able to move my nose like nothing had happened. The graft hurts my nose any time it is pressed on in any way, such as simply kissing my husband. It’s stiff and makes an obvious white line any time I smile. My nostrils came out uneven and he told me to “pull down on the higher one with a q-tip.” Of course that didn’t do anything. I believe he was setting the stage for me thinking that if it was uneven, it was because I didn’t do that right or enough post-op. How could pulling with a q-tip remotely affect the results of a surgery?

He also removed fat from my chin. He did tell me it would leave a scar. However he didn’t tell me it would create this very unnatural & unflattering folding in my chin. Not only that, but it is uneven, giving me an uneven face shape and weird tight lines under my neck. He did the same thing he did with the nose, told me to massage it. So of course, when that didn’t do anything, it’s my fault, right? Not the botched surgery.

I’ve lived with this for 8 years now. I hate my reflection in the mirror and am sad any time I see myself on photo or video. I would tell anyone to stay FAR AWAY from this doctor.

Go see Dr Toriumi. He can fix that. Sorry to hear you went through this.

I’m too scared to see him. Reviews & person accounts are either really good or REALLY bad. $30k+ for his fee alone? He needs to be a dang miracle worker. Sadly I’ve heard too many bad stories with him too :(

So sorry. He ruined my nose also . I just had it repaired.

You went to Toriumi right? How was the whole process with him? I hope everything went well

We should talk, 727-460-5911, text first. Davis takes no accountability, it’s always the patients fault. I need another 8 hour surgery with another rib graft to fix what he did, any time you have a graft you get a bigger nose

Sunshine, It sounds like Dr Toriumi fixed your nose. Could you please give more details? I'm very happy for you after your experience with Dr Davis. That guy should retire already!

Dr. Davis left me with crooked nose with dents and lumps, uneven nostrils. Dr. Toriumi was able to correct all the issues. He never promised a perfect nose but even with all the swelling I am happy with outcome. I can breathe well finally.

Sunshine ocean, thanks. I'm glad he was able to fix you!

Davis ruined my nose as well and I am thankful that Toriumi fixed it. Davis blamed my super thin skin for my bad result, and implied it was only me this had ever happened to- my before photo in my review of Toriumi is Davis's "masterpiece" (as Davis called it), and Davis told my husband and I that my outcome from him was a "great result" and implied I had BDD when I disagreed. Toriumi fixed my nose and skin, and has had great aftercare- Davis gaslit me and blamed me.

Just some photos for you to see the crooked deviation, the exaggerated columella from too big & sharp and graft, the alar retraction from an overly aggressive approach (according to the National Institute of Health), and the small collapse on the left side.

Your nose doesn't look bad at all. The columella is hanging . Just get a gentle columella removal & you would look awesome .

I’ve heard everything from “oh, this is an easy case” to “this is very complicated.” Technically, there’s a lot more wrong with it: it curves left, collapsed a bit on that side and has alar retraction in that side as well. That’s the complicated part. If I just do the columella reduction, it’s much more straightforward and potentially enough to make the asymmetry less obvious. Given how terrified I am of the result being worse, I might just do that and not fix the rest.

I agree with taking the less risky route . Rhinoplasty is very unpredictable. You should try in-office revision of one of your nostril and columella reduction . Always fix the obvious . No one notices the subtle asymmetries .
