Long story short, my nose was broken. I went to a surgeon to remove the bump. The surgeon was an ENT not a real surgeon. I was young. I didn’t know. He said that he could make my nose look more pleasing so I agreed he didn’t do a good job now I’m looking for a revision after googling and reading reviews. I decided to go to Dr. Davis. I flew to Florida now I live here, he did my nose and I feel like myself again what I used to look like and I told him I wanted to look like I did before the break. I showed him an old picture and I’m happy. Look in the mirror see my reflection very happy with the way I look very happy with my nose. I take a close-up of my nose to post it on here. It doesn’t look like my nose in real life. I don’t like pictures, they aren’t real. I recommend Dr. Davis. He knows what he’s doing he is in to perfection. He’s not God he cannot control a lot of the things that happen during healing like infections and different things. People heal different people write reviews because they had bad healing. Dr. Davis is not God but he knows what he’s doing. Nose surgeries are very difficult if they don’t get it right the first time then you need to go to revision specialist and also you have to understand that. Maybe the other Surgeon did everything right. It just didn’t come out right no matter who you go to. Enjoy after pictures I do not have before. This review was typed with my voice, so hopefully you can understand it.
I had a primary that did not turn out well with another doctor (who does procedures other than rhinoplasties, which I've since realized is a bit of a red flag). In that original surgery, too much tissue was taken out of my nose and it turned to the side. Very asymmetrical. I went and consulted with doctors all over the US, and people said it was impossible to fix fully, even the top rated ones. But I kept asking rhinoplasty surgeons who else they really respected in their field, and Mr Davis came up. He doesn't focus on social media - he just does amazing work, only rhinoplasties, mainly revisions. He basically rebuilt the structure of my nose from scratch, but you'd never know if you saw me. An absolute magician - and I saw many examples of even more difficult cases he was able to make way better than you'd think possible. I hope the word spreads about Dr Davis - I've seen so many people who could benefit from his help. If you look at his website, those are not "best cases" outcomes - it's averages, and maybe a few more difficult cases than average since he wants to show off his skill when he needs to 'save' a situation. Anyway, so happy with Mr Davis, and wish I had found him sooner.
My revision rhinoplasty was actually all the way back in 2009. I had a primary rhinoplasty in the early 2000s that left me with a very surgical looking nose, pinched tip, bossae, hanging columella and it was crooked. Dr Davis rebuilt my nose tip with septal cartilage and it looks great and natural 14 years later. For many years I didn’t even think about my nose anymore which was amazing. My nose isn’t perfect but it’s so much better than what I was left with before. I would highly recommend him for complex revision rhinoplasty. I wish I had gone to him for my first surgery.
Thank you doctor ! I am 7 years post op and it’s still holding up great. I wanted to wait to review to see how my results lasted since rhinoplasty, especial revision, can take years to see the full result. This was my 3rd rhinoplasty. Previously I went in for a dorsal hump removal with someone else. They over resected my nose and cut off my tip. It was way over shortened, upturned, and I had a big dent on one side of my tip with inverted V deformity. I needed a specialist to lengthen and restore my tip to a normal appearance which after many years of contemplating and researching I found Dr. Davis. He spend 1.5-2 hours with me in consultation. Showing me many photos and lots of discussion. He made me feel seen, heard, and welcome. Only after meeting with other surgeons did I realize how valuable and above and beyond this was. I met with many plastic surgeons in LA who charged $500-700 for a consult and spent less than 5 minutes talking to me, were rushed, and had bad bedside manner. And didn’t even answer all my questions. . Dr. Davis goes above and beyond in bedside manner to get to know you and understand your aesthetic goals. And provide in length example photos of what’s achievable. He came and visited me in the hospital post op to check in and spent much time with me during follow ups. I do agree with some on here that said he was shorter tempered and more dismissive during post op stuff but after healing thoroughly I understand more now why he may be dismissive of concerns. You swell enormously and looks insane for months. In my case many months. And he has worked with so many he knows swelling will resolve or go down and it comes off as dismissive. But when you’re healing you’re looking at these swollen results and panicking and his response can come off as abrasive when in reality it’s just experience and knowing time will resolve a lot of the panic. I’m sure he gets alot of panic and freaking out that you just have to dismiss knowing rhinoplasty takes so much time. I used rib. Two weeks of rib pain were rough. My nose was lengthen. It was insanely swollen and I worried I had this huge blocky bulbous lump. It took 7+ months for my swelling to go down and start looking normal. And over a year to see real results. For how huge and swollen it was it’s now it’s so thin I actually get some filler sometimes ( which he advised against, but I wasn’t ready for a touch up surgery). It’s not perfect but no revision will be. There still some small finesse things I’d like to do but overall I look normal and don’t have a cut off tip anymore. Dr. D cares about his patients and spends time with them, he remember them and personal details because he takes the time to get to know his patients. I got a breast aug with a different doctor who re-introduced himself to me at a post op because not only did not remember me but he not take the time to even glance at my chart to refresh who he was seeing. He didn’t even recognize someone he consulted with several times and performed surgery on. Caring about your patients it’s important. It means you care to do a good job and that they are happy with their results which is exactly what Dr. Davis goes. Even a a follow up several years after he remember a lot about me.
I am a week and a half post revision rhino surgery and am absolutely amazed with my results. My surgery took 7 hours and I needed a rib graft. My primary rhinoplasty left me with a drooping/uneven, columella, inverted V/ pinched bridge, tip migrated up in my bridge which made my tip look long and narrow and difficulty breathing. My primary rhinoplasty was with Dr. Dean Davis in Tampa, Florida. (NOT RICHARD DAVIS, I know same last names, but do not get them confused!!!) I have attempted to leave an honest, disheartening review for Dean Davis on here and it says its posted, but never shows up…So, if you are reading this and having consults with various surgeons in Florida, I would encourage you not to use Dean Davis. I originally used him because of all his positive reviews, now realizing the negative ones do not show up…he butchered my decent birth nose and caused breathing issues which I never had before. Up until the 2 year mark post surgery he was injecting steroid shots assuring me the swelling and asymmetry would go down. And then at the last post op apt he said my nose was within his margin of error and he didn’t think it would be worth it to perform a revision, which I am so thankful about. Dean Davis gave me false hope for 2 years that my nose would change and it only got worse. His confidence can be very deceiving and after having my revision rhinoplasty I learned how terrible his surgical skills really are. Okay, now to the good part of my journey- my experience with RICHARD DAVIS. I had multiple consults before deciding to use Richard Davis. I actually had a consult with him earlier this year and cancelled it after I read negative reviews about him. So, instead I met with Dr. Farrior (Tampa), Dr. Holcomb (Sarasota), and Dr. Bustillo (Miami), and called Dr. Bared. It wasn’t until both Dr. Bustillo and Dr. Bared recommended I see Richard Davis that I made another consult apt. Dr. Bustillo said that Richard Davis is one of the best revision surgeons in the county. My consult was about 3 hours and Richard Davis was very transparent about the issues he saw, risks associated with surgery, and outcome he believed he could get. I could tell he takes pride in his work. I met with him the following week for a second consult to go over more questions I had and then surgery was a few weeks later. Here I am, a week and a half post surgery and am loving my new nose and the amount of air I can breath through my nostrils! I know my nose with continue to change in the next few months, so I will keep updating this review on any positive or negative changes! At this point, my nose looks better than I could have even imagined. It fits my face so well, looks natural, and my husband is in disbelief about how good it looks. My advise to anyone looking to do a revision or better yet a primary- go to RICHARD DAVIS! Get your primary rhinoplasty with him, so you don’t have to see him for a revision later on! I He is extremely detailed and skilled and really cares about his work. One thing to take note of- his post surgery care is INTENSE. You have to ice your eyes/nose for literally 22-23 hours a day for 7-8 days. My husband works from home, so thankfully we were able to do this. During the nights we would do 90 minute changes instead of 60 to get a full sleep cycle. It takes a lot of patience and commitment to stay in bed and ice for 8 days straight, but it is worth it. Again, I will keep updating this review as the weeks and months go on. Updated on 4 Oct 2022: I have my 6 week post op apt this Thursday and am absolutely loving my results so far. The swelling has gone down a fair amount and I’ll see how much Dr. Davis thinks is still left. I am so impressed with my nose from every angle. I have been following Dr. D’s post surgery care extremely well and have still not worked out! Excited to hear this week if I am cleared for some physical activity!
Dr Davis is a master of rhinoplasty. He only does noses and he takes on some of the most complicated cases from all over the world. I went to see him from Europe, having undergone a very aggressive primary rhinoplasty in the late 1990s in the UK. My primary surgeon took so much cartilage out of my nose that I was left with a nose that looked more like a pencil than something I was meant to breath out of.The surgery was long and complicated, and whilst the result was better than my starting point, it still wasn't quite right. About 18 months later, Dr Davis went back in to add some more grafts. My nose is still not perfect, but it is considerably better than what my primary surgeon left me with and I think my nose is better than any other revision surgeon would have achieved. He is also a nice guy, and a doctor who clearly cares about both what he does and the patients he takes care of.
I think my pictures speak for themselves--Dr. Davis is a flippin' ?miracle worker. Ten years ago, a surgery meant to fix a broken nose and badly deviated septum left my nose warped, broken in two places, and the septum *more* deviated than it was to begin with. I could barely breathe through it. I hated pictures of myself. It SUCKED, but I was so convinced a second surgery would only make it worse. It took a long time to talk myself back into a surgeon's office, and even longer to find one I trusted. Finally, another highly-rated doctor took one look at me, told me he couldn't help me, and referred me to Dr. Davis. I am so very grateful he did. Consults with a lot of other surgeons felt like stepping into a wellness spa where they promise you the moon. My consult with Dr. Davis felt like stepping into an actual doctor's office. He's extremely down-to-earth, blunt about the risks, and honest about what he thinks he can accomplish. He spent no less than 3 hours (at a FREE consult!) walking me step-by-step through the picture morph and explaining how each fix would be accomplished using rib grafts. The surgery itself was estimated to take 6.5 hours--a long freakin time. It ended up taking OVER 8 HOURS, it was such a mess internally. Holy moly. Recovery was hard, sure, but not as bad as I was expecting. Pain was very minimal--I was mostly just paranoid about keeping the cast dry and swelling as low as possible. Constantly waking up to change the ice packs was the hardest part, but all went perfectly. The moment the cast came off and the doc suctioned all the "surgery gunk" from my nose, it was like sucking in the first goddanged breath of life. I knew my breathing wasn't great beforehand, but I hadn't realized exactly how bad it was. I also knew from looking at other users' pictures that the swelling would be ferocious at first, and I tried to brace myself for it, but I'll admit, my first reaction to looking in the mirror was "oh God, what have I done?!!" Bahaha, just keep icing! It only took 2 or 3 days cast-free before I couldn't stop grinning at my own reflection. I'm so incredibly thankful for Dr. Davis and his team, who were warm and encouraging throughout the entire process. His office assistant Carmen is a sweetheart to talk to, and the hospital staff were all incredibly kind. Surgery is never easy, but it was the best experience I could have hoped for, and the results have been life-changing. Finally, I can walk out of the house without a trace of self-consciousness. I feel like myself again, and it's amazing.
I am still very early in my recovery (I think I am 10 days post op?) but wanted to take a quick moment while I’m sitting in my car waiting for takeout (and marveling at my profile!!) to write this review. I never write reviews, but I feel that after utilizing this site to help me in my journey I absolutely need to give back and share my experience. Wow. All I can say is my nose is a complete masterpiece!! Perfection!!! I flew all over the country for an entire year consulting with top plastic surgeons and I am happy to report that my decision to put my nose in Dr Davis’s hands has absolutely paid off. I am so pleased. Again, I know it’s very early and I still have a lot of healing to go and am dealing with lots of swelling, but I am so happy even at this stage. His post-op instructions are def no joke, but he knows what he is talking about, so 100% follow them. Night and day from my primary rhinoplasty experience. Ill try to do a follow up review later, with a side by side before/after picture and more in depth (and fewer grammatical and spelling errors... it’s hard to type this much kn an iPhone screen!!) for now all I can say is Dr Davis is a genius, incredibly talented and kind. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you for my perfect nose!! Updated on 10 Oct 2021: Ok here are a few pictures. I am extremely private so had to blur out and crop. I am very happy with my decision and would 100% do it all over again. I highly suggest meeting with Dr. Davis if you are considering a rhinoplasty. No other surgeon spend so much time with me educating and discussing our plan... it is clear how proud he is of his work. I have truly enjoyed getting to know him and cannot thank him enough!!
My experience with dr. Davis has been more than I really have ever received with any other doctor. It isn't a fancy operation with lots of staff but more of a real one on one relationship with a doctor who listens. I know everyones experience is different and we each have to follow our hearts with who is a good fit for our needs but for me dr. Davis is it. He has been willing to answer any question and spend more time than any doctor I have ever met. Does that mean he is going to deliver every time? That he doesn't make mistakes? No, but I truly believe he goes in doing the best possible job every time. It is a personal decision and you should feel that way about your surgeon too before you ever diving into a revision. He is one of the best Revision surgeons out there. I talked with several surgeons and his reputation with other doctors speaks for itself. Do your research and pick qualified surgeons then trust them to do their best. Does this review mean that dr Davis Is the right surgeon for you? No you both have to feel the match is good. Happy to share my story with anyone just direct message me. Updated on 11 Sep 2021: I get updates and reviews on here be while my heart breaks for those who have had a bad experience I do feel the need to say again that my experience with dr davis was not negative. While this is an excellent place to start your research this should not be your last. If you dig deep be wide enough you will see no doctor is perfect and they ALL have negative reviews; just like dr davis. I have talked it’s some of them and the two or three I have talked to their stories are real and I pray they find someone they restores their self value. Dr Davis was not the surgeon for them. But he is for some people so if you really want to know about dr davis then my suggestion is to go visit him yourself and pray you are lead to the right doctor. If any of us feel that their is any doctor that doesn’t have mistakes or bad results then we are not being honest with yourself. The question is: is he qualified and is he the surgeon for you? At the end of the day and surgery is a step in faith. While my nose is not perfect it is so much better and I can breath. I do know that I could have had different results even with him. The evidence is their that he is skilled one of the best and I personally feel he goes into his surgeries hoping for the best outcome. He wants nothing more than n unhappy patient. With all that being said I am promoting you find your doctor. Not Dr davis but your doctor as long as he is qualified. While these reviews are worthy of reading just know their is nothing like an actual visit with the doctors you are considering.
I went to dr Davis for a revision rhinoplasty. He made me the perfect nose! I’m super picky and Dr D took his time and really cared to make me happy. He is the absolute best in this country. Honest skilled expert surgeon. I love my new nose!
