Wouldn't Choose This Surgeon Again
I had a rhinoplasty, neck liposuction, and buccal fat removal with Dr. Castaneda. Maybe this is a good surgeon but I personally didn't have a good experience with him - the whole process seemed rushed and I didn't feel like I was in good care. My results are subpar.
First the rhinoplasty - I can't speak to the results yet as I'm one month & one week post-op. But a day after surgery the splint on my nose fell off (I was asked to keep it on for 2 weeks). I told the nurse, and she called him and he said it was fine. That was concerning. At my follow up appointment four days later, I arrived wearing my mask, and before seeing my nose he said, "I'm going to ask that you wear your splint for another week." I said, "my splint fell off 4 days ago." He was like, "oh ok, that's fine." For what I paid for the whole thing, I wanted to ensure my healing went well.
Secondly, when I sent pictures for my consultation I told him I wanted more definition in my jawline. He recommended neck lipo and buccal fat removal (bichatectomy). I was adamant to him that this was a huge insecurity for me, more-so than my nose. My end results look almost exactly the same. Complete waste of money. Prior to my procedures, he did a quick simulation (may have taken him a total of 2 minutes to come up with). When he showed me the simulation, I told him my jawline still didn't look defined in the "after" picture. His response was, "oh, this is just a quick simulation, your real results will be better". When I saw him for my follow up appointment, he said, "it's going to look like your simulation". Okay, but I told you I didn't like the simulation?
I've reached out to his assistant about my liposuction/buccal results with a before and after picture to explain my disappointment. He is still blaming the swelling (I encourage you to look up videos of this procedure and the healing process, I should be ecstatic with my results by now even with excess swelling). He asked for a front-view picture, which I sent back, and I haven't heard anything since even after following up. No desire to right the wrongs.
Additionally, before I left Tijuana they forgot to book me a follow up appointment, managed to get me in the morning I was leaving. He was 40 minutes late to come in and see me, saw me for maybe a total of 3 minutes and left. I'm not sure if he booked too many appointments before the holidays and didn't have time to ensure good quality but I was super unhappy.
I travelled from Canada for these procedures - travelling and accommodations were not cheap, as well as the procedures plus lab work, etc., so my experience was nothing short of disappointing. Would never return to this surgeon. Before and after pictures attached - feel free to use your own judgement after seeing my results.
