AWFUL - Don’t Trust This Man with Your Face
I had a rhinoplasty with this Doctor in 2010 and have regretted it ever since.
I had multiple consults with different surgeons and went with this surgeon as he seemed to be the one who listened to me, and did indeed spend time explaining things. Unfortunately this led me into a false sense of security.
I had a small hump on my bridge and a bulbous tip and wanted my nose de-projected. Overall it was too large for my petite face. I wanted the bump removed and the tip refined.
I knew things hadn’t gone well when he came to see me post-op and when I asked how it had gone I got a passive aggressive response.
What I got -
-The bump was removed but tip cartilage was over-resected, leading to a pinched pointy tip, and alar retraction.
-We had discussed giving my nose a slight curve. What he did (attempted to do I should say) can be seen on the tip- you can pretty much see the chisel indentation on the top of the tip.
- He did not place a spreader-graft on the bridge as we had discussed and agreed on pre-op (he never explained why- couldn’t be bothered probably) so my bridge is narrow and collapsed on one side with an indentation.
-I think I have an inverted V deformity as my bridge looks disconnected from the tip in certain lights.
- I have a weird bump on one side of my tip which the light bounces off.
-I can’t breathe properly out of the side with the indentation. For years I suffered with a nose which dripped mucus from this side if I bent forward.
-My nose is deviated- this may have been the case before the surgery but it was not obvious. Now it is very obvious.
- My nostrils look flared due to the alar retraction. It looks even worse when I smile.
I cried for months after the surgery every time I looked in the mirror. I think my nose looks like one of those joke noses with glasses.
His responses was that he didn’t see an issue. He said he could place some filler in the nostril rims to lower them. I did not proceed with this as nose filler was then very new and I did not trust him.
I appreciate that some of the more recent reviews on here are very positive.
This is my experience and I have never had the money or confidence to seek a revision. The only decent surgeons seem to be in the USA.
How my nose looks affects me every day. I wish I had never met this man.
Sadly there were no reviews on here when I went ahead with my surgery.
