Best Decision I’ve Ever Made
I received a double procedure with Dr. Reish (rhinoplasty and a breast augmentation) and received a discounted price for scheduling within a timeframe. Once in the operating room, I out within 10 minutes. They do lay you in a bed with heat and air pumping around your legs which was comfortable. My nurse beforehand and after was especially noteworthy. I believe her name was Colleen and she was so kind and reassuring. She made me even more excited for the procedure than before honestly. We took an Uber to our hotel and I did throw up once that night. Upon insisting I was good to go, my nurse not only dressed me, but she actually walked me outside in the middle of winter in only her short sleeve scrubs to ensure I was safely in the vehicle. During the entire process I only took 2 Tylenol that was sent home with me - not even opening my own medication (nauseous pills, pain killers, muscle relaxers, stool softeners, and a pack of Tylenol). I received several calls and texts (especially within the first day or two) but I didn’t realize the calls until much later when I checked my voicemail. I didn’t do anything that night except sip soup. It was impossible to open my mouth much so everything was taken threw a straw. With my breasts, my husband had to be the one to pull my pants up and down and help dress me for around three days before I should shimmy myself. I did do an hour walk slowly to our train station the next day, and we went home. We did go back the next week to have my removals done and everything checked. I will say this process was a little painful and my nose was swollen afterwards (reasonably). The bruises wasn’t major, and the swelling wasn’t horrible. I had minor bruising by the 2 week point of my surgery and noticeable swelling was gone in 3 (2 weeks after my casting was removed). I will say smiling hurt for that first week after surgery and it’s hard for me to not smile. Also, I didn’t get my normal smile back for about 3 weeks, which made me anxious if I’d ever get it back. I love what I’ve gotten done. I was somebody who hid inside and felt like I was too ugly to be seen by the public as if I didn’t deserve to be happy, somebody who was sick at the idea of somebody taking a picture with me in it, and constantly sick at how people saw me from the side. I feel like I can actually live my life now (as cheesy as that sounds). This was the most incredible thing to happen to me. I’m not beautiful by any means, but my nose is! It has always been my biggest insecurity, so this meant the world to me.
