After a gastricbypass surgery in 2002, I promised myself I'd pay for a tummy tuck to remove saggy skin and leftover fat if I maintained the weight loss of over 100 pounds for 10 years. At 14 years, I finally saved enough money and vacation time off work to do it. Over the years, I visited 2 other plastic surgeons, but after meeting Dr. Shah, I knew I found the right dr. His staff were attentive and amazing from day 1. It's 9 days post op and I removed one drain, but still have the 2nd. I've been off narcotics and on Advil since day 4. I get to moving around, think I'm doing good, then swell pretty bad. I'll post a before pic once I get them from my dr. I'm excited with the results so far, just can't wait to get past the first 6 weeks.

Huge congrats to you, both on the weight loss and your recent FDL. I'm 3.5 weeks out from a TT revision that included a vertical incision for improved shaping. I don't see many of us on the site so I'll look forward to following your journey. All the best! :-)

How are you feeling at 3.5 weeks? I have to go back to my office job at 2.5 weeks. I'm a little nervous.

I'm 4 weeks today and feeling pretty "normal", all things considered. Seeing my PS at the end of the week so am looking forward to being cleared for everything (?). As this was a revision of a TT + BR/L (done a year ago), I was pretty aware of how healing would progress. Following that first surgery I went back to a desk job at 3.5 weeks, a little delicate, but I managed. Now I'm happily able to stay at home and just take care of myself for as long as needed. Hope you'll feel up to returning to work at 2.5 weeks... if not, take a bit more time. Remember... we need to learn to listen to our new bodies. All the best! :-)))

40 Year Old 15 Years After Gastric Bypass 100 Pound Weight Loss.

Fleur de lid tummy tuck performed yo remove 5.4 pounds of skin and remaining abdominal fat after maintaining 100 pound weight loss for 14 years. Dr Shah and his staff were friendly, helpful and patient through the entire process. Appointments were always efficient and on time. Surgical staff were so calming the morning of surgery. After my tummy tuck, I could barely stand and the tightened muscled pulled a lot. But, wow oh wow!!! My belly was flat and my boobs looked huge since they weren't competing with my belly. It was a little weird. I had never looked down and saw my vagina split before. Had always been heavy or had skin. It was super cool! Saw my body and actually contemplated wearing a bikini for the first time ever. Even the dimples on my thighs were tightened and gone. Artist!!!!! That's the only way to describe him. I didn't know my belly button belonged way up there. Lol. It had always sagged low. I had 1 drain tubes that remained for 1 week and another that stayed for 2 weeks. I only needed Percocet 5s for 3 days. After that, I maintained 800 mg of Advil every 6-8 hours for another few weeks then was able to take it down to 400 mg of Advil before a lot of activity or to sleep. After day 6, I was done, I had been sleeping in the recliner, I missed my bed, I missed sleeping on my dude, I missed not being in pain, it was my poor pitiful me breaking point. I got dressed, went to my family's house and started driving a little. By day 10, I was back to most housework except vacuuming and lifting. Once each drain came out, the burning sensation under the skin was gone. Day 21, I returned full time to work at my desk job. First week was rough. I wore bigger clothes and my binder. I had a few stitches show on the outside. I just snipped them off and kept going. Here I sit with tomorrow going to be 5 weeks. I love my results so far and I'm hearing they only keep getting better. I did have to check myself though. I got rid of a huge section of skin and then started nit picking other things. I had to stop and appreciate where I was right now compared to the last 30 years. I have had some weird things I've wondered if we're normal and they were. Scratching right side of belly, but feeling it on the left. Having the inside lips of the vagina protrude out. It's ok, they are slowly going where they belong. I'm finally laying on my side to sleep comfortably after 3 1/2 weeks. I have a stitch and not inside one side that is poking me, but I just massage it and move it out of the area it's poking. Most don't post or ask this, so I'll tell. Had sex at 3 1/2 weeks and yep, even that is tighter and my honey has a brand new woman again. ????. I'll post more pics at 6 weeks.
