Waste Of Time, Energy, Money and Most Importantly A Waste Of Another Rhinoplasty Surgery.
Where do I start?
I found Haken Gence on instagram, I was immediately impressed by his work I flew to Istanbul to consult with him regarding revision rhinoplasty, upon arrival he did a brief examination and told me he can active improvements but not to expect perfection, I was pleased with his honesty since the surgeon I consulted with in Istanbul the day before was way over confident and told me he could fix anything.
I decided I wanted to go ahead with my revision rhinoplasty with Haken Gence, big mistake.
I sent him countless emails and WhatsApp texts that went ignored. Finally I got a friend who was looking into a rhinoplasty - I asked her to contact Gence, he responded imminently to my friend, my friend did subtly mention me and that's Gence finally responded to me after 3 months of ignored texts and emails.
There were so many red flags from the beginning but I was somewhat pressured by others on RealSelf that Haken was "the guy to go to for revision rhinoplasty". I take full responsibility for my poor choice in surgeon.
I finally got booked for my revision rhinoplasty in June 2019, I booked a 2 week stay in Istanbul, I requested to consult with Haken the day before my surgery to insure good communication and make sure we go though all of our options, well it didn't exactly go that way, Haken quickly changed his tune and told me he wasn't sure if he could fix my issues, my first instinct was to get up and leave which is what I should have done, I flew 10.5 hours to Istanbul for this surgery took several weeks off work for recovery I felt there was no going back.
The package included transfer to and from the airport and lo and behold the office forgot about me, I had to pay extra money for transfer from the airport to my hotel if that wasn't enough Haken's team even failed to inform the hotel that I booked with through his office about me, I had to wait for the hotel to contact Gence's office to confirm my reservation, they're were so unorganized.
To make a long story short, Haken was incapable of fixing my nose, there is no improvement in fact he left me with a terrible incision scar, this is due to his incompetence and negligence. He didn't bother to take cartilage that is so desperately needed to fix my nose, no rib, no ear. I feel duped and taken advantage of.
Haken is doing some serious catfishing, I found out that some of the rhinoplasty pictures on his instagram account are NOT his work.
I sent him texts via WhatsApp, his assistant said he would get back to me, he never did.
All in all I just cannot recommend this doctor, particularly for revision rhinoplasty.
