These pics are completely out of order, sorry. Anyway, it’s embarrassing how much of a mess my skin was but I’m a picker and this trauma with my nose enhanced that all my OCD. I wanted to also note I spent the first year after my revision not happy. I got sucked into that group of people on here leading me to believe I was TOTALLY botched because I don’t have a huge pronounced columella or infratip... Which is ridiculous in hindsight. Glasgold’s aesthetics may not be for everyone, but he aims to create a nice, structurally built nose that fades into the background so all your other features can shine through. And also Patience, patience, patience.
Revision Rhinoplasty w/Robert Glasgold
Against my better judgment and years of doing research for good rhinoplasty surgeons, I stupidly and compulsively went to an ENT for breathing issues, etc and let her break my nose to straighten it and shave the hump down, (basically some cosmetic procedures for cheap) and that was a very bad decision. A year after swelling went away I had a Polly beak, cartilage poking out, etc. ugly mess.
Had revision with Dr Robert in oct of 2016, just coming up on 2 year mark. I still have some regrets and trauma regarding my original nose and in some ways wish I could have it back but since I can’t.. Glasgold did a very nice job and I’m able to put this behind me and move on with my life. He’s a very talented and consistent surgeon. I know two people in real life that have also had phenomenal results with him. Very good with tip work, grafts, confident but humble. Somewhat pricey compared to others but worth it. Uses donor rib, which I have and I’m not sure why people are so worried about this... I’ve had no issues. I think it’s MORE important to focus on the relationship with your surgeon and being confident in their abilities (I would never choose a surgeon if I didn’t have confidence in them) versus questioning and over analyzing their every move. I see this so much with people stuck in the botched revision rhinoplasty world. Literally micromanaging and telling Surgeons how to do their jobs. I’m the first one to understand it’s Trumatic but these surgeons aren’t gods and they’re only capable of so much, having realistic expectations and a down to earth surgeon who will be straight with you is important. Personally I think dr. Robert under promises and over delivers... which is a good thing.
I still deal with tons of swelling which makes me go from liking my nose quite a bit to hating it sometimes. I had two invasive surgeries in 2 years which probably explains some of this and hopefully it continues to lesson. I’ve also had a few rounds of steroid injections that are insanely helpful. I’m almost addicted to the way my nose looks after them, sharp, tight and pointy like the pics I posted. I will probably continue these ‘if needed’ as a routine thing like Botox because it makes me really enjoy my nose more. But hopefully it naturally keeps getting better also and I don’t need to. I’ll post two pics documenting how this swelling can vary.
Overall I think Dr Robert is a very talented surgeon especially with revision rhino.
