6 WEEKS POST OP
I have my 6 week post op apt this Thursday and am absolutely loving my results so far. The swelling has gone down a fair amount and I’ll see how much Dr. Davis thinks is still left. I am so impressed with my nose from every angle. I have been following Dr. D’s post surgery care extremely well and have still not worked out! Excited to hear this week if I am cleared for some physical activity!
amazing results so far!!!!
I am a week and a half post revision rhino surgery and am absolutely amazed with my results. My surgery took 7 hours and I needed a rib graft. My primary rhinoplasty left me with a drooping/uneven, columella, inverted V/ pinched bridge, tip migrated up in my bridge which made my tip look long and narrow and difficulty breathing. My primary rhinoplasty was with Dr. Dean Davis in Tampa, Florida. (NOT RICHARD DAVIS, I know same last names, but do not get them confused!!!) I have attempted to leave an honest, disheartening review for Dean Davis on here and it says its posted, but never shows up…So, if you are reading this and having consults with various surgeons in Florida, I would encourage you not to use Dean Davis. I originally used him because of all his positive reviews, now realizing the negative ones do not show up…he butchered my decent birth nose and caused breathing issues which I never had before. Up until the 2 year mark post surgery he was injecting steroid shots assuring me the swelling and asymmetry would go down. And then at the last post op apt he said my nose was within his margin of error and he didn’t think it would be worth it to perform a revision, which I am so thankful about. Dean Davis gave me false hope for 2 years that my nose would change and it only got worse. His confidence can be very deceiving and after having my revision rhinoplasty I learned how terrible his surgical skills really are.
Okay, now to the good part of my journey- my experience with RICHARD DAVIS. I had multiple consults before deciding to use Richard Davis. I actually had a consult with him earlier this year and cancelled it after I read negative reviews about him. So, instead I met with Dr. Farrior (Tampa), Dr. Holcomb (Sarasota), and Dr. Bustillo (Miami), and called Dr. Bared. It wasn’t until both Dr. Bustillo and Dr. Bared recommended I see Richard Davis that I made another consult apt. Dr. Bustillo said that Richard Davis is one of the best revision surgeons in the county. My consult was about 3 hours and Richard Davis was very transparent about the issues he saw, risks associated with surgery, and outcome he believed he could get. I could tell he takes pride in his work. I met with him the following week for a second consult to go over more questions I had and then surgery was a few weeks later.
Here I am, a week and a half post surgery and am loving my new nose and the amount of air I can breath through my nostrils! I know my nose with continue to change in the next few months, so I will keep updating this review on any positive or negative changes! At this point, my nose looks better than I could have even imagined. It fits my face so well, looks natural, and my husband is in disbelief about how good it looks. My advise to anyone looking to do a revision or better yet a primary- go to RICHARD DAVIS! Get your primary rhinoplasty with him, so you don’t have to see him for a revision later on! I He is extremely detailed and skilled and really cares about his work.
One thing to take note of- his post surgery care is INTENSE. You have to ice your eyes/nose for literally 22-23 hours a day for 7-8 days. My husband works from home, so thankfully we were able to do this. During the nights we would do 90 minute changes instead of 60 to get a full sleep cycle. It takes a lot of patience and commitment to stay in bed and ice for 8 days straight, but it is worth it. Again, I will keep updating this review as the weeks and months go on.
