Remarkable surgeon - couldn’t be happier with the results

Today is 1 year since my surgery with Dr Robotti. I love my nose, it looks natural. Is it perfect? No, but it’s perfect for my face and my breathing is also perfect. If you want natural results then Dr Robotti is the surgeon for you. I can’t recommend him enough. The care and attention to detail after the surgery was also remarkable. The only negative is his location, but it’s worth travelling to him.

If you are considering having surgery with Dr Robotti my only recommendation is please don’t go there alone. You need someone with you for at least 7 days, my sister came with me and was initially going to stay just 3 days with me, luckily she was able to stay longer, I wouldn’t have been ready to stay alone at 3 days.

After having consulted with several surgeons over the last 10 years in the UK I was lucky enough to hear about Dr Robotti. I had a secondary rhinoplasty (actually my 4th rhinoplasty surgery) with him in March 2023.
I am so happy that I went with my gut feeling before and never followed through with anyone else. Dr Robotti is a remarkable & extremely dedicated surgeon. My impression is also that he is a wonderful person who genuinely cares about his patients and the outcome of each surgery. I feel so lucky to have found him and I can’t thank him enough, this surgery has changed my life and how I feel about myself. I barely have any photos with my children from before and I used to dread having my photos taken when out with friends bc I felt so bad about how I looked, especially my nose. Now I look at myself and I love my nose, its an amazing feeling for someone who has been struggling with my image bc of my nose since I was a child (bc of bullying over it)
My journey: I had a primary rhinoplasty in 2004 in Barcelona. At the time I had very little knowledge and went with the first surgeon I found. After the first surgery I was left with scar tissue in the tip of my nose, the same surgeon went in twice more to remove this, once under general anesthetic and once under local. After this my nose was “ok”, I was never really happy about it, (I never got any compliments on it which I guess says a lot) but I couldn’t deal with more surgery, but over the last ten years or so I started to develop an inverted V deformity, the tip also got heavier and droopier and the nose got more and more twisted to one side. My breathing on one side was also restricted. As mentioned I consulted with many surgeons since 2012, in the beginning most told me to leave as it wasn’t so bad, however in the last years things got worse and all told me it could definitely be improved with surgery.
The whole process from when I first contacted Dr Robotti until now has taken around 14 months. I have just been back to see him for my 8 weeks check up. I couldn’t be happier with the results and the whole experience. I felt very confident I was in the right hands.
I first had a zoom consultation with Dr Robotti in April or May in 2022, he was so nice and explained everything to me in such detail about what to expect and how the surgery would be. I then went to meet dr Robotti in person around 6 months later and he spent nearly 2 hours with me explaining everything again and talking about expectations. He also had me do a scan to see what was going on inside my nose. Having done many consultations with other surgeons I can honestly say there is no one like him, he really cares and doesn’t rush you or push you in any way.
I was given some time to think but I didn’t need to think anymore and booked my surgery, it was scheduled end of March.
My surgery took 5.5 hrs, Dr Robotti said it was much more complicated than he had expected and that it was a bit of a mess in there. He had to do a rib graft (which was discussed prior) on me as there wasn’t enough cartilage inside my nose to repair my inverted v.
I stayed in Bergamo for 1 week after surgery, the aftercare was great and I had a nurse visiting me at my Airbnb to help me clean my nose. I had no pain and no bruising at all. It’s obviously a bit uncomfortable after surgery and strange having to sleep on your back but all in all the recovery was exactly as expected. Everything had been explained to me, I knew exactly what to expect and what to do.
I will go back to see Dr Robotti at 6 months and 12 months.
