My Third Rhinoplasty – Marble Plastic Surgery
WORTH IT
Having already had two rhinoplasties in the past, I was extremely sceptical and anxious about having a third. Revision rhinoplasty is a huge decision, and I really didn’t want anything to go wrong, so I visited many hospitals in Seoul before deciding where to have my surgery.
As someone who doesn’t have an ethnically East Asian nose, I was initially nervous about having surgery in Korea. My desired result was also very specific: I wanted my nose to be lower, shorter, less pointed and noticeably upturned, while still looking balanced with my face.
From the moment I stepped into Marble Plastic Surgery, I had a completely different feeling compared with many of the other clinics I visited. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming and didn’t feel like a factory-style plastic surgery clinic.
I was greeted by my translator, Heekyung, who was incredibly kind, patient and reassuring throughout the entire process. During my consultation, Dr. Kim Jun Hyung carefully explained the problems with my previous nose and exactly what my third rhinoplasty would involve. He explained that cartilage from my ear, as well as donated rib cartilage, would be needed to achieve my desired result while providing stability. He even showed me pictures so I could better understand the procedure.
Because I was extremely anxious, I asked a lot of questions! Heekyung patiently translated everything, and the surgeon took the time to answer my questions thoroughly. One thing I really appreciated was that he didn’t overpromise or simply tell me what I wanted to hear. He was honest and realistic while explaining everything in detail, which really helped to ease my anxiety.
I also decided to have my septum corrected through septorhinoplasty. Even after my first consultation, I wanted another appointment before making such a big decision, and Marble arranged this almost immediately. After my second consultation, I finally felt confident enough to take the leap!
On surgery day, I was incredibly nervous, but Heekyung guided me through every step and continuously reassured me. The surgery took around two and a half hours, and I was able to rest at the clinic before going home.
The aftercare has also been fantastic. Whenever I had questions or concerns, I received prompt responses, which was incredibly reassuring during recovery. I also had follow-up appointments at three and seven days post-op.
When my splint was removed at seven days, I was extremely swollen and bruised, but having previous experience with rhinoplasty, I knew this was normal. Within a few more days, the swelling noticeably began to decrease.
Now, at approximately four weeks post-op, I am already absolutely thrilled with my results! My nose is significantly lower, shorter, less pointed and has the beautiful upturn that I specifically wanted. I still have some swelling and know that the result will continue to improve over the coming months, but I am already incredibly happy with what I see.
I honestly cannot recommend Marble Plastic Surgery enough. Choosing to undergo a third rhinoplasty was a huge and scary decision for me, but the surgeon and Heekyung supported me throughout the entire process and made me feel genuinely cared for.
Thank you so much to the talented Dr. Kim Jun Hyung and to Heekyung for all of your patience, reassurance and support. I’m so grateful that I chose Marble and can’t wait to see my final result as my nose continues to heal! ’
