Revision with Hands Down the Best Surgeon in Nashville!

So my journey actually started years ago when I had my first nose job. I went to a doctor that was claimed to be "the best" so I didn't question his bedside manor much. I have always had a big nose, both protruding out and at the time a bulbous tip. I went to this doctor excited and nervous! He first was quite rude when I told him what I wanted done claiming "you cant get your nose shorter but I can make the tip smaller." Even though I really really wanted it to not be so far out I didn't ask any questions and trusted what he said as a professional. That was my first mistake. He also did not want to see any pics because he said that makes a false reality. Which I get but I think a visualization of what you want couldn't hurt. He did not offer a digital image of what we had in mind. That was mistake number 2. Lastly it was all very rushed and I thought he was rude. Only met with him one time and that was it. That was mistake number 3. I paid a lot of money to have just the tip done and it ruined my looks! For years I have lived with it because I was so scared to have anyone touch my nose again.
Fast forward to the present. I did years and years of research online looking for surgeons to fix this nose. The tip of my nose was very uneven, pinched, and looked very awkward with it wider in the middle then really pointy at the end. It looked horrible and not photogenic at all because os shadowing! I got to the point that I would never have my photo taken. Well after researching Dr. Clymer for about 3 years and his work I finally scheduled the appointment. He specialized in revisions and that correcting another's work from a not original nose was not an easy task. I wanted this corrected and I was confident in my last experience I would know what to look out for as warning signs.
Dec 20, 2018 I had my consultation with Dr. Clymer. It was like night and day difference with the other doctor. Dr. Clymer asked me what I hated, what I wanted, looked at pics with me, did digital imaging, and really took the time to understand why I was there. He was really nice about the other doctors work, but he knew there were issues you could see visually. Lucky for me they had one spot that came open on Jan 15th for the operation so I booked in that day! They didn't have anything open until almost April and I really didn't want to wait that long.
Jan 15th was my surgery date and I am at 2 weeks tomorrow. I was so nervous the morning of my surgery that I thought I was going to vomit! I got there at 8am and taken back almost instantly. Dr. Clymer does his surgeries at the Cool Springs Surgery Center. Its not the most anonymous place to go, but you are only there for the surgery time. My surgery was suppose to be about 2-3 hours but ended up being a little over 4 my husband said. That just shows that Clymer doesn't rush through, but took the time to make sure it was perfect. He even said they had to try a few different things before everyone there in the OR agreed it looked great. I had to use the rib cartilage (yes from a dead person!) but it was needed because of how much cartilage was missing and my nose needed support to keep the tip from collapsing and looking pinched again.
The day of surgery was a blur. I don't even barely remember going home. I know I didn't eat. Was to hard to move my teeth. But I do know it was middle road on the pain scale. More uncomfortable than anything. Day 2 I woke up and made sure I took my pain meds. I really didn't want to be in any more discomfort than I was just having a blocked nose and swollen eyes. I didn't bruise, but I did have an allergic reaction to the tape they used to tape my eyes shut during surgery! It literally took my skin off and was painful. Felt like a really bad burn. I kept ice on my face around the clock except when I slept. I had a humidifier that I ran around the clock because your mouth gets so dry! Sleeping really didn't happen for the first few nights. I think it was around day 4 that it all started to get better. Not much pain, the swelling on my eyes started to do down, and sleeping got easier.
Day 8 Jan 23rd I got my cast off!! Lets just say this is the part you don't anticipate. You see videos of people doing it and being happy. Well let me tell you, its a shock!!! Both good and bad. Ashley the nurse was so sweet and told me to remember that I would be really swollen and the nose I see is not what it will stay like. She even said most people say they feel like they look like and Avatar (google if you've not seen the movie!) I hated the way I looked the second they took the cast off! Like I wanted to cry and reverse it all. He told me I had about 50% swelling still so I knew it would change, plus my cousin said hers was so wide and horrible at first she bawled for days. Her nose looks amazing now so I knew it would all be ok. The good was that the side angle was amazing! No more hump and even though it was swollen it was not half as far out and the biggest was no more pointy end! From the front view however the midsection is really wide and the tip was big and fat. Basically my worst nightmare, lol. The next day was even worse. It got so much more swollen. I hated it! Like couldn't look in the mirror because the face I saw was not me and I started thinking "was my old nose that bad, did I make a huge mistake, what if this is the final look" and a million other things! The anxiety is real you guys!
Today Jan 28th 2 days short of 2 weeks post surgery: I can say it is finally starting to ease up on swelling. Still very very swollen and wide but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The side is incredible how much better my profile is. I can tell how lovely the tip will be once the swelling is done even though it is still puffy. Since this a revision for me I was told that the swelling will take twice as long and that the final will take twice as long. I think that by 6 months it should be shaping up pretty nice.
I will update with more photos as time goes. Right now the front view is still probably about twice the size it will be. I mean he made my nose narrower by breaking the bone so no way is it wider! I remind myself of that and the fact that its so swollen I don't have any creases on the side where my nostrils are yet. Plus I found a great swelling progression photo that made me feel soooo much better! So far so good and I would 100% do this again. I can't say enough about Dr. Clymer and his work. I researched so many doctors and some of the work of them looked so fake (like ski slope nose and upturned tip- true signs of a fake nose!) I wanted something natural that I wish I was born with that fit my face. Dr. Clymer said there is a science and math to what works and what doesn't. I know he took the time to ensure my nose was natural, proportioned to my face, and accentuated my features. 2 weeks in and swollen still and I already love it! Seriously Dr. Clymer is the best! The other doc ruined my nose and I don't think anyone else would have fixed it as great as Clymer :)

I can send you some photos! I am very pleased. I'm still swollen but this was a revision so I was told it will be twice the healing time as a first timer.

3 weeks Post Op. Not much change because of my own doing!

BellaDalby
Still a lot of swelling! It started to go down at about 2 weeks but I decided to go running again and was the worst thing I could do. I swelled back up worse than 2 days post op... so don't get your heart rate up. To make it worse I put a pore clarifying mask on my nose and had an allergic reaction making me have blisters and swelling. Its been a rough few weeks, but I am still very happy and can tell it will shape out nicely. I go in for my one month on Feb 13th so if I am still swollen they are going to offer maybe some more steroids to help. Being patient is so very hard with this!
