Second Revision - Dr. Wayne
peacegirlJuly 16, 2020
I had a rhinoplasty in 2005. I had fractured my nose, and tried to correct a small bump. My nose was otherwise attractive. No issues, besides the fracture. I chose a local doctor and ended up with a mediocre result. I had no immediate deformities, except for an inverted-V that became more noticeable with time. I was too scared to try again, so I just lived with it.
In 2015, I finally attempted a revision with a different doctor. My surgeon used ear grafts without a fascia overlay, so my nose appeared uneven/bumpy. My tip didn’t look straight anymore, and I had breathing and eustachian tube issues. I’m normally a pretty happy, optimistic person, but I felt so dejected afterwards. To say this negatively affected my self-confidence is an understatement.
I had multiple consultations all over, and decided on Dr. Wayne. I’ve been researching him for over a year and spoken to several of his patients. Thank you dearly to those people! I’m hoping to pay it forward with this review, and help anyone in my current situation.
I met with Dr. Wayne twice in-person, before Covid-19, and once through an online consultation. I really liked his background in facial reconstruction and otolaryngology. I finally scheduled surgery for early August, and I'm excited to (hopefully) be putting this nightmare behind me! This is my last chance for a good outcome, so I'm just praying for the best, possible result.
Also, side note, both pictures I've posted are Dr. Wayne's morphs/goals for surgery. I apologize for not posting any before picture. I will try and post some more photos at a later time.

UPDATED FROM peacegirl
4 weeks post op update
peacegirlAugust 30, 2020
I am almost 4 weeks post revision with Dr. Wayne. I am sorry for not updating sooner. I was working on traveling back home and returning to normal, everyday life.
Nose seems to be healing well. So far, I am very pleased with what Dr. Wayne accomplished. A few of you have been messaging me for photos. I am still in early recovery, and lightly bruised under my eyes. I am still waiting to see how it looks when the swelling recedes, but am happy that I've come this far! I have posted some before and after pictures for reference.

Thank you! Following closely. I have a virtual consult set with Dr Wayne for the end of September. Question, are we given copies of the morphs after our consult?

Also, looks really really good so far!

Thank you! Good luck with your virtual consultation! I wasn’t given an official copy of my morphs, but I was allowed to take a picture of his computer screen/my morphs.

Looking good! How is your breathing?

I’m still a bit swollen/congested from surgery, but it’s definitely improved. I could hardly breath before.
UPDATED FROM peacegirl
1 year update

Hi I’m sorry for the (very) belated update. I’m not on RS as much these days, so I apologize if I’ve missed anyone’s questions.
So far, I’m still quite pleased with my result. Dr. Wayne clearly listened to my concerns and outlined realistic expectations. My goal from day 1 was to look like my former self, and he’s gotten me very close in my opinion. We had many, many conversations about this, and hopefully *knock wood* everything will continue to go well. The reason I haven’t uploaded pictures in a while is because I’ve been battling some inconvenient skin issues. This is unrelated to anything Wayne did, and more than likely the ph balance of my skin being off. At this moment, I don’t feel comfortable sharing any new pictures. However, I will include pictures from the 2 month mark. This should give a somewhat clear understanding of my final result to anyone who’s interested. Just keep in mind these pictures are from last year.

I have one other consultation with another Oklahoma surgeon planned for September (that was the earliest they could schedule an in person consultation - no options for a virtual consultation)
I'll be looking forward to following your progress! :)
