Second Revision - Dr. Wayne

UPDATED FROM peacegirl

6 year update

*sorry if this posts twice*

I don’t know what compelled me to check RS today, but just thought I’d check in. I wanted to say my skin concerns were related to seborrheic dermatitis, which took a while to properly diagnose because like any form of dermatitis, it mimics a hundred other things. This is just something that popped up, and most likely got aggravated from the stress of reconstructive surgery and recovery, etc. It’s why I didn’t post much afterwards, but I feel like my early post op pictures from 5-6 years ago still (thankfully) represent my current result.

So far, I still feel like Dr. Wayne delivered what we discussed, which was making sure everything looked natural, and also stability and functionality. If you’ve read my prior posts, you’ll know breathing/ear pain was increasingly becoming a problem before surgery, so I am glad that it’s improved since my last revision. Likewise, I feel like we both got to a good place in terms of visual aesthetics. I wanted to look like my former self, and we probably got as close as possible. The rib graft was a big concern there, but it’s been fine. In fact, I hardly think about it much. My ear is still a bit numb where the cartilage was harvested, and my nose is perhaps firmer than it was before, but it’s been okay so far. You have to pick and choose your battles with this stuff, and I was looking to get some peace of mind after quite a long period of anxiety and stress. I went into this revision looking to move forward, and I think it’s helped with that… minus my dermatitis of course, which has been an ongoing battle, but unrelated to surgery.

Again, I don’t know why I chose today to check in, but I hope everyone seeking out their surgeon finds the right one for them. This kind of surgery is not to be taken lightly! It’s extremely serious, with potential repercussions if not taken seriously. I can’t stress enough how important it is to think everything through beforehand, and make sure you have good communication with your doctor. Always trust your gut.

UPDATED FROM peacegirl

1 year update

Hi I’m sorry for the (very) belated update. I’m not on RS as much these days, so I apologize if I’ve missed anyone’s questions.
So far, I’m still quite pleased with my result. Dr. Wayne clearly listened to my concerns and outlined realistic expectations. My goal from day 1 was to look like my former self, and he’s gotten me very close in my opinion. We had many, many conversations about this, and hopefully *knock wood* everything will continue to go well. The reason I haven’t uploaded pictures in a while is because I’ve been battling some inconvenient skin issues. This is unrelated to anything Wayne did, and more than likely the ph balance of my skin being off. At this moment, I don’t feel comfortable sharing any new pictures. However, I will include pictures from the 2 month mark. This should give a somewhat clear understanding of my final result to anyone who’s interested. Just keep in mind these pictures are from last year.

UPDATED FROM peacegirl

4 weeks post op update

I am almost 4 weeks post revision with Dr. Wayne. I am sorry for not updating sooner. I was working on traveling back home and returning to normal, everyday life.
Nose seems to be healing well. So far, I am very pleased with what Dr. Wayne accomplished. A few of you have been messaging me for photos. I am still in early recovery, and lightly bruised under my eyes. I am still waiting to see how it looks when the swelling recedes, but am happy that I've come this far! I have posted some before and after pictures for reference.

Thank you! Following closely. I have a virtual consult set with Dr Wayne for the end of September. Question, are we given copies of the morphs after our consult?
Also, looks really really good so far!
Thank you! Good luck with your virtual consultation! I wasn’t given an official copy of my morphs, but I was allowed to take a picture of his computer screen/my morphs.
Ok, well maybe since it's virtual they'll send them out. Appreciate it!
I am also following closely. Just requested a virtual consultation. Am 9 months post a revision rhinoplasty. So thankful to have you ladies. Congrats, Peacegirl! Looks fabulous so far!
Thank you so much! It’s been quite a long, strenuous journey... I’m just so thankful to be this far. Good luck with your consultation as well! So thankful for all the positive connections I’ve made here.
Looking good! How is your breathing?
I’m still a bit swollen/congested from surgery, but it’s definitely improved. I could hardly breath before.
It looks great! So happy it went well! Can’t wait to see the final outcome
Thanks! I can't thank you enough for all your help!
