Before and After photos
As I got a couple of comments asking for photos, here are 2 showing the before and after. I know it is not Winona Ryder's nose :) the change I got was small as I wanted it, being a low profile person trying to feel a bit more confident with myself.
No Regrets
This was my third nose surgery in 12 years. And I finally achieved my happy ending. I was 22-years old when I decided to have surgery with an ENT specialist due to a breathing issue that had affected my life since I was a little kid. My nose was a bit larger than the other features in my face and I had low self-esteem, like 99% of women on Earth. This doctor suggested fixing my nose, making it thinner by a small amount and me, naive, said ok and paid for that and then the problem started. My nose was deviated to one side and the tip lacked support because he removed too much cartilage.
Four years later, I decided to get that fixed with a plastic surgeon. The surgery went well and the deviation and the tip of the nose looked almost normal but I still felt there was something that could be done to improve the asymmetry. I tried to get over it but I never felt happy to be in pictures either for work or with friends and I decided to give it one last shot.
I contacted Dr Uppal's secretary and booked an appointment. Both the doctor and his team were very honest and professional from day one. Dr Uppal explained what could be achieved, wrote down all my expectations and I was able to clear all my doubts before going ahead with the surgery.
I had the surgery almost a month ago. Everything went according to plan, I was informed of every detail and everything went smoothly and I don't have any regrets. My surgery was in BMI Windsor, the team there was excellent too. And I was already told that I would see the doctor a month later.
Seven days after the surgery, all my bruising had pretty much gone and I didn't feel the need to take any painkillers at all. My nose was still a tiny swollen but nobody has noticed it, except me. The asymmetry in my nostrils is 99% gone; the deviation is gone too.
Another thing I can say about having surgery with this doctor that really surprised me as I am like a veteran nose surgery patient by now, (this being the third, and last, one) is that I left the hospital and went home and I was able to stay home and remove the nose splint there a week later: no need to travel around in that condition, no need to visit hospitals and have people staring at you. I took pictures and sent them to the secretary and got immediate feedback from the doctor. That was amazing, I did not have to take any other time off work and was able to carry on with my life with no problems.
