Botched results - there was immense nasal scarring

ORIGINAL POST

Regret Using Dr Reish

I followed Dr Reish on social media and was extremely impressed with the amount of reviews and rhinoplasty’s he has conducted. I loved his work and how natural it looked. I previously had a rhinoplasty that did not achieve the look I desired. It was not a botched nose job, but it didn’t achieve the results we had discussed and I wasn’t confident that my original surgeon and I were aligned on what I wanted. I decided to take Dr Reish up on his free virtual consult. It was during Covid and I lived on the West Coast. I again was impressed by his promptness in responding to my request, his kind demeanor and how he articulated exactly what I wanted. He assured me he could produce the results we discussed as he had done many other revisions that were a lot more complicated than mine. He provided me a quote. I took my time to think about it as it is a big decision (plus logistics of NY etc). After approximately 5 months I called to schedule and was told the price I was quoted went up a few thousand dollars. I requested another virtual consult before scheduling. I was again impressed by what Dr Reish promised in terms of results. I decided to take the plunge and schedule.
My surgery was in July 2021.

Result: BOTCHED
He used Nontraditional nasal tip graphs that were three times in larger dimension than employed in traditional methods.

There was immense nasal scarring, with large distortion of anatomic structures and encasement of all exception large grafting, creating a nose that was 40% larger, distorted, and compromised in function.

Red Flags:
- Very quick surgery for revision rhinoplasty
- Met for only 15 min before surgery (everything else was virtual)
- I flew back to NY multiple times for steroid shots - recommended stronger steroids
- He never took pictures. He would come into the room with his camera but not take pictures.
- Multiple infections
- Told extreme swelling could last 2-3 years
- Had in office nostril surgery Aug 2022 with no nurse present, used local anesthesia. Had to go to after hours clinic in Seattle to get pain medication.
- Tip started to droop
- Added filler to nose to nose to improve appearance

Dr Reish ended up offering a revision rhinoplasty but given my experience and all the red flags, I decided to seek help elsewhere. I am so thankful I found a Dr that was able to help. I am 10 months out from my last surgery, have had zero infections and my nose looks amazing. Don’t believe everything Dr Reish says. Be your own advocate!

Rohrich created these non anatomical grafts. Alarcontour grafts and extended alarcontour grafts. He put these grafts in my nose. LLC grafts he destroyed. Pain is unbearable now when my right side graft has collapsed. i can't breathe on the right nostril. I need my 4th revision rhinoplasty.
Omg I am so sorry. I hope you find a surgeon that an help like I did. There is light at the end of the tunnel with the right Dr
My swelling lasted 4 years. Now looking for revision rhinoplasty surgeon again.
Had issues with my nose that Reish did not address at all including deviated septum. I also felt rushed and to be honest its a surgery mill, I felt he rushes surgery and its getting worse over time. I had a revision with an ENT and OMG way better outcome and all of my concerns were addressed.
who did the revision that you are now happy with?
Dr James Ridgway in Bellevue Washington
