I am now more than a year post-surgery after having revision rhinoplasty with Dr Lucian Ion, and I am so glad I went ahead with it. My first rhinoplasty with Dr Dario Rochira left my nose crooked from the front, so I was very cautious about choosing a surgeon for revision.
From the beginning, there were so many green flags with Dr Ion compared with my first experience. He has a fixed office rather than working from a rented room in a large Harley Street clinic, and he came across as caring, thoughtful and genuinely focused on patients rather than social media. He offered as many consultations as I wanted before surgery and was never pushy.
My main issue was a deviated septum, which showed from the front, and I could tell immediately after waking up that my nose was much straighter, and it has continued to gain refinement over time. It's is not 100% perfect, but it is as good as it could ever be based on my natural anatomy. Dr Ion used ultrasonic tools and a rib graft. The rib area was quite painful afterwards, but the scar was small and has faded well with time.
He also said he would lower the tip slightly to reduce nostril show, which he did perfectly. The result looks very natural and, if anything, more natural than my first operation result.
Recovery was smooth: no infection, no issues, the columella scar healed well, and I did not even have packs in my nose afterwards, so I could breathe almost immediately. There was some swelling, but it kept improving, and I had steroid injections at regular appointments.
Overall, I am extremely happy with my revision rhinoplasty. My nose is straighter, more balanced, and natural-looking. I would definitely recommend Dr Ion, especially for revision rhinoplasty.
