So I’m going to start by saying I have wanted a revision rhinoplasty for about 7 years but in the US, revisions are quite expensive and not only that but I don’t think the work overall is as good as the work in Türkiye. So the doctor I chose was Dr Alpaslan Yildirim because I loved his aesthetic and after contacting many doctors and sent them all photos of my nose, he was the only one that said he can’t tell me whether I needed any rib or ear cartilage until he examined my nose in person. I really appreciated that. I don’t like when people say they’re going to do this and that without even feeling my nose. Also he does a lot of revisions and he also has all-inclusive packages and for someone coming from overseas that was a huge plus and exactly what I was looking for. The rides from the airport to all appointments and back to hotel and airport are all included as well as the hotel. It’s very organized and I really appreciated that. When I first met Dr Yildirim, on the day I arrived in Türkiye, we just vibed right away. The minute we started the consultation, we agreed and basically everything I wanted and was looking for. It’s like he was in my brain lol. I kind of knew it would be that way because I loved the way he did revision rhinoplasty’s. Also his staff, especially Hülya(hospital and hotel assistant) and Bahar(who I was in contact with most of the time before I even flew out(she works in the clinic))are amazing and great communicators. I was communicating with Bahar via Instagram and it was totally fine. Okay, so fast forward to the day of surgery, which was the day after I landed. I was a bit jet lagged but I felt fine and I was in good spirits. The car service picked us (husband and I) up and took us to the hospital where they did my blood/ekg tests the day before. It was about a 8 minute drive from the hotel. So not too far at all. We arrived and were gives a room we would sleep in. A hospital bed for me and couch for him with blanket and pillow. The room had a tv too and a bathroom with a shower. It was pretty roomy. They put in my IV and I met a few nurses and the anesthesiologist and a photographer. They were all lovely. Hülya also came in with the meds and the list and how to take them and explained everything. She speaks pretty good English. We did have to wait a little bit because Dr Yildirim had a surgery to do before mine but no big deal. We just relaxed for a bit. Then the nurses took me to the operating room and the photographer came too and then we went into surgery. I bought the doctor a few gifts from DC the day before and he thanked me for them before he did my surgery. Such a nice guy! And he has the best hair ever! No lie, he’s a hair legend lol. But I digress. Haha. So he did my surgery and then they took me into recovery and then back to my room. I did have some soreness and felt some pressure but the pain was much better than I thought it would be. The nurses took very good care of both me and my husband. They brought us food(mine was super bland and had no flavor since I wasn’t really supposed to eat anything salty or too sugary the day of the surgery immediately after. My husband got some nice pasta and greens for lunch and for dinner had some yummy looking meatloaf with potatoes. He said the food was pretty good. Also I will add this….before this surgery, I had only had surgery in the US. I MUST say in the US, the anesthesia is much more harsh on my body. I have always gotten nauseous after having general anesthesia and thrown up and also had shortness of breath and my chest was always sore the entire day or even the day after surgery. In Türkiye, I never got nauseous and my breathing was totally normal. The healthcare in Türkiye is superior to the US(nor surprising). They’re clearly using more gentile general anesthesia in Türkiye. the nurses all took very good care of me and made sure I was comfortable. The next day I did feel a little better and felt I didn’t need the liquid IV pain killers anymore. I could just used the regular pain pills they gave me. Then I was discharged in the afternoon. Also I got the comfort package that Dr Yildirim offered for an extra $500. With this package, they make sure you’re comfortable and come to your hotel room twice and give you an IV of liquid and antibiotic to speed up the recovery. Totally worth it IMO. So we headed back to the hotel and just took it easy and relaxed. I looked like I was in a boxing match and got my clock cleaned lol. My eyes were pretty bruised but they didn’t hurt. They were just swollen. It’s normal for pail skin which is my skin type before summer. After about 60-72 hours after surgery a lot of my swelling started going down. I still had some bruising but nothing too crazy. On day 4 Hülya and the nurse from the hospital came to my hotel room to give me an IV(part of the comfort package, if you pay an extra $500, the come to your hotel room twice and give you an IV of vitamins, some pain medication and they clean your wounds and tell you how you’re healing). The nurse couldn’t speak English but Hülya translated and they are just both so sweet and kind. I just have to say every single Turkish person we spoke with, whether at the hotel, hospital, clinic, airport, sights, they were all so sweet and just lovely. I don’t speak Turkish but the people who didn’t speak English understood my body language and they were all fantastic. Turkish people are fantastic! I’m a big fan. ???? Just remember, you get what you give, so if you are sweet and kind, they will be as well. We also wanted to enjoy Istanbul while we were there, so we went with a driver from the service and for an extra fee, they take you to some nice sights, good shopping, and great restaurants. The driver was fantastic and we feel we made a new friend. The day I was to fly home, the doctor removed my cast and took out the tampons out of my nose. There was also a very sweet nurse helping(I don’t know his name, but he was very sweet). My nose was quite swollen still but I really loved what he had done. He listened to exactly what I wanted and this nose matches my face so much better even though it’s still super swollen and will look even better over time. I couldn’t be more thrilled that I chose Dr Yildirim as my surgeon. He does beautiful work. And PS if you want the best results, please listen to everything the doctor tells you to do as far as aftercare. Also it’s wise to quit drinking alcohol and smoking at least two weeks prior to surgery and two weeks after. Try to best prepare for surgery by taking vitamins that help you heal faster. Just some surgical advice. :) I will be posting pics 1 month post op.

So obsessed with how natural and harmonious your new nose is! I'm looking for a revision surgeon and your experience sounds great, but when I look at his other patients he gives them pig/"barbie" noses? I'm curious what you told him to change to come out with such a beautiful result. Also, did you end up needing rib/ear graft? Congratulations on your super successful revision!
