WORTH IT
I wanted to put a review on here because I always thought my nose shape and issues were different to others I saw. I hope this helps someone.
I always felt like my nose was wide, bulbous, projected too far and lots of nostril on show. I tried to address this in 2014 with my first rhinoplasty. I noticed minimal difference but sadly found my nostrils were far more irregular than before. I accepted that and understood that cheap surgery dodgy result.
7 years later, I had an opportunity to fix the problem. I'd been following various surgeons for the 7 years post first op and thought I wanted to get it right this time. One surgeon turned me down saying the results wouldn't be worth the risk. Disheartened, I thought I'd try Mr Hassan before giving up. He looked at my photos, agreed to speak with me, and my zoom consultation in Feb 2021. As everyone says on reviews, gentle and knowledgeable man but I did feel rushed. I asked for a second face to face appointment. As I was revision, I wanted him to examine my nose and scarring
During this appointment, he understood my worries and said I'd get a good result.
We set the date for July. I was nervous, especially when the nurse checking me in questioned why I was getting it done. For me, it was just a door I had to close to move on. The surgery went well. The only part of this experience I didn't like was after in the hospital. I felt awful, heart racing, woozy etc. I tried to eat but with a dry throat and scratchy sandwiches, it wasn't happening. There didn't seem to be any staff around. When I pressed my 'help' buzzer, it took them a long time to arrive and I avoided the food as I was worried it would get stuck. They did say I could stay overnight as I was having panic attacks but I knew I just wanted to be home. I was 100 times better in my own bed with my partner to keep an eye on me.
After that, recovery was as expected. I did notice my nostrils were still asymmetrical. This did upset me as this was my main hang up. Only now, 3 months in, am I seeing them start to look similar - not identical but much better. The projection is so much better and lot of my bulbous tip has been removed. I can really appreciate Mr Hassan's detailed work and expert work. Each day, I'm loving my result more. None of my colleagues noticed, but I do, which was my aim! As they all say, trust in the process!
