The tip of my nose is also still rock solid. I don’t understand why so much rib cartilage was needed. I had a large nose which was made smaller. I don’t know why so much was needed. It may be contributed to the loss of movement I have right now

Not happy at the moment...
It’s been a while since I’ve updated. I’ve noticed that I don’t show teeth when I smile anymore. I always read rhinoplasty can make smiling more difficult until it heals. However, it’s been over two and a half years now. It’s like I’ve lost some control of my upper lip/cheeks and a lot of the feeling has just never come back.
I’m hoping to have a Skype update soon to discuss my concerns. All of my savings went on this, I’m hoping if there are any changes to be made then I won’t be charged. I went to a top surgeon for a reason, I wasn’t expecting to lose facial movement.
Has anybody else experienced this?

When the nerves are cut it can take many many years. but I'd like to hear his response?
Hi did you ever get this fixed? My smile is also forever changed and I had my surgery in 2014.

11 days post op. I feel like my nose still over projects? Hopefully it’s just my old ‘big nose mentality’. Tip still a bit swollen

Honestly what a beautiful shape! You are swollen however even with swelling I dont think it does over project! It’s really suits you! Lucky you!
Your nose is perfect. It’s all in the mind. I had to have 3 reconstructive surgeries to get my projection back because previous surgeons overshortened my old big nose, it was traumatising that now all wanted was my nose to be more projected, compared to the botched flattened nose I had. Your projection is fine, wish my first time I had rhino it would have turned out like your nose.
Also bear in mind that the nose will shrink more I know this because I had rib before, and rib will shrink with time. It takes time, I think Dr. Ion have you a very pretty feminine nose. I really like it. It’s funny how some people like other people’s noses and vice versa.
Mel2001 who got your projection back? Are you happy with the end result?

Your nose looks perfect. You are less than 2 weeks post-op. I know it is difficult not to obsess right after the cast is taken off, but this surgery in particular takes A LOT of time to heal--up to 2 years in many cases and at least a year and a half in just about every case. It looks really good this short of time out of surgery so it will only look better. Give it time and enjoy your life with a much, much nicer nose.
