WORTH IT
After two rhinoplasty in California, I was still unsatisfied with the way my nose looks. I did not have a hump on my bridge before, and somehow two years after my second revision rhinoplasty, I went back to my previous surgeon’s for further consultation. He was able to tell me the problems, but seems to me that he’s not able to fix the issues. So I started looking for other plastic surgery clinics for help. After a few months of searching, I made a decision to have my third revision rhinoplasty, revision chin augmentation and first time zygomatic reduction surgery with eight plastic surgery in Korea. In the very beginning, I was afraid to go to another country to get surgeries done because of the language barrier and the distance. I was concerned that I won’t be able to reach the surgeon if I need to follow up on complications etc. The interpreter was able to convince me on WhatsApp that they don’t put a time limit on the guarantee of their work for international patients, so I decided to give it a try. When I first went into the clinic, I met with the interpreter and the consultant. They were helpful with assisting me deciding which nose shape will suit my face. During my consultation with Dr Joo Oh Young, I felt that the Dr was well prepared. I could sense that he has already talked to the interpreter or read the text messages and saw the pictures I sent. He gave out lots of details of his surgical plans and I appreciated that. He has great English skills and I felt at ease when we were communicating. There are times when I needed to bust out my Google translate to communicate with the nurses after the surgery, but everyone was helpful. I also appreciate that the clinic offered thorough in house health examinations such as blood work, EKG and CT scan before the surgery. I was able to get a copy of the ct scan before and after the surgery by paying additional $35, which I think is reasonable. After the surgery, the dr met with me a few times and made sure there was no infection. He was willing to show me more about the details of the previous surgeon’s work and pointed out the previous surgeon’s mistakes. I stayed in Korea for two weeks, and the clinic offered unlimited laser treatment to help with the swelling. Overall I’m satisfied with my experience and the results of the surgery (please see the pics). My nose looks more symmetrical and natural now compared to before. The hump on the bridge was removed, and my chin is now smooth.
