This was my first time getting any kind of plastic surgery, so I was quite nervous, but researching a LOT online, I saw that Eight Plastic Surgery had consistently high reviews, so I chose Eight for bulbous nose surgery and I am SO glad I did. I met with Dr. Joo, and he is wonderful!! I told him all my all my concerns and requests during the consultation. As an American, I can tell you that his English is perfect (I actually thought he was a Korean-American!) After I told him what I wanted, he explained exactly what the procedure would entail. I told him that I wanted the surgery to be done so the results look natural and fit my face. He did EXACTLY what I requested, I am so incredibly happy with the results. I am now 3 months post procedure, and can say it really changed my life and confidence. I'm not longer anxious about taking pictures. I absolutely recommend!
I'm just adding before-and-after pics. For the nose, I wanted a slight change so that it was a bit straighter. The chin implant was the most significant change. Always thought I had a bit of a weak chin
Dr Joo Oh-Young was detailed in the consult and helped me feel at ease, as he ensured that we were on the same page for what results I could expect. He listened to what I wanted - natural but noticeable results, and also provided his professional opinion when requested. I'm really happy with my results so far (tiplasty and DES) and it really has only gotten better over time.
Dr Joo did not recommend anything more than what I genuinely needed, and was not at all pushy with any of the treatments. He also took the time to design my new nose exactly how I wanted and it came out very similar to my reference photos. Incredibly satisfied with his professionalism and eye for detail!
I received incision double eyelid surgery at Eight Plastic Surgery by Doctor Joo Oh Young. He listened to and addressed all my concerns and was very thorough in this consultation. He did not push me to get any unnecessary procedures. The surgery was painless and I am pleased with the results!
My nose is still swollen as I read that thick noses like mine can take a much longer time to deswell and sometimes might take 1year+ to heal or even longer. So the pictures won’t be the “final” nose in a sense. My nose from before was really bulbous and thick and the doctor informed me beforehand that I won’t be able to go sharp which I appreciated that information beforehand. I told him I wanted something natural and fits my face and I really liked the way it turned out! I am very satisfied with the result and am really happy that I chose Doctor Joo! Translator was super friendly and was there to assist with everything, from topicals to procedures to consultations to all instructions-thank you! both were really helpful before and after my operation! I highly recommend:) Updated on 6 Feb 2025: i was very fortunate to have come across Dr Joo Oh Young for my rhinoplasty, pictures are currently 1month post op! it's been an amazingly smooth process. the translator was very friendly was there to assist every step of the way from consultation, to pre-op instructions, to right after op, and finally post-op. I told the doctor I wanted something natural and fits my face and showed some pictures of others' rhinoplasty that i like from the UNNI app as reference, cause honestly i barely did any research on the type of nose that i want hahah! even before flying to SK he told me I had thick skin that would need rib cartilage so I was well aware before I flew here. He also said with thick skin it is very hard to get it sharper like the photos i showed so i was aware of it as well. however it turned out so well!! in the aftercare post-op, they had me come for de-swelling lasers for 2 days and on the 7th day they took out my cast! i love my new aesthetic :) even though for thick skin it is gonna take longer to deswell, possibly a year or longer haha.Helpful
There were other clinics with higher rankings when I first found Eight Hospital on the Gangnam Unni/UNNI app, but Eight Plastic Surgery had an English translator (she was very kind and helpful, and she had been there for about three years) AND they had experience doing rhinoplasties on white women, so I had a consultation. Doctor Joo truly understood what I wanted and did not rush me. He is also fluent in English! It was 3.8 million won after a discount. Since it was my first surgery, the day of the procedure was scary, but the staff was incredibly comforting and encouraging <3 Personally I felt well after waking up and finishing surgery so I left straight away, collected the medication and got the subway home with my Korean friend who came with me to support me. Your after surgery experience might be different than mine, though. The recovery was fine because I followed the hospital's instructions closely and I ate clean for the week. There were two hospital visits for cleaning and red light treatment then finally after 7 days, the bandage came off and I'm SO ecstatic with the results. My nose is natural looking and the same as before but without the small hump I had :) Doctor Joo is a talented surgeon and I recommend him and Eight plastic surgery in Apgujeong to other white people wanting nose hump removal. Updated on 27 Jan 2025: I'm so happy with my nasal hump removal surgery. Dr. Oh-Young Joo performed my surgery and he is very talented, kind, listened to what I wanted and reassured me (because I was very scared). He speaks fluent English so the translator wasn't necessary when discussing surgery directly with him. I chose Eight plastic surgery because the results for Caucasian rhinoplasties was higher quality compared to other hospitals and it has good reviews and a fantastic reputation. Everything from the clean, modern interior, FRIENDLY staff, the consultation wasn't rushed.. everything made me feel understood and at ease, especially because I wanted a natural result. I brought my Korean friend with me on the day of surgery and the hospital had no issue with that. Everything went really well and the after-service was attentive also. After recovery and when I finally saw my nose without the band aid, I was thrilled with the results and still am :) I paid 3.8 million won which was discounted and it was worth it
This was my first surgery experience, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to choose Eight PS. For over 10 years, I’ve used eyelid tape and glue, but after noticing skin sagging, I decided it was time for double eyelid surgery. Dr. Oh Young Joo’s consultation felt personal, and he listened closely to my concerns. I had showed him a photo of myself with eyelid tape and asked him to replicate my eyes so that they looked natural. He concluded that the incisional double eyelid, epicanthoplasty, and a bit of fat removal was the best path for me to achieve my desired eyes. The staff at Eight PS were also incredibly kind and accommodating. As someone not very fluent in Korean, I felt supported every step of the way. On the day of surgery, Dr. Joo was incredibly meticulous and took his time ensuring everything was perfect, even having me open and close my eyes 30-40 times making sure nothing was rushed. He explained the process of the procedure clearly, which helped ease my anxiety. The surgery itself was painless and I was able to go home right afterward without any difficulties or discomfort. Recovery was surprisingly very smooth and fast, with only mild bruising and swelling- which was gone after two weeks. The results are exactly what I wanted and I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend Eight PS for anyone considering their first double eyelid surgery — the entire experience was seamless, professional, and rewarding!!!
Hello, I'm Dr. Oh-Young Joo, from Eight Plastic Surgery Clinic in Seoul, South Korea. It would be better if you could provide me photos from the side as well. To make your nose look more 'narrow', the following procedures may be needed. First, a tip plasty to correct the bulbous tip. If you have a not-so-high tip projection from the side view, making a more projected tip would make the nose look more narrow, and you can simulate this at home by lifting your tip by putting Q-tips in both your nostrils and lifting them upwards. Also, to correct the bulbous tip (fullness), cartilage trimming and sutures are essential. Second, an alar width narrowing procedure, such as 'weir excision'.The alar width looks wide and correcting this width would make your nose make more narrow. Thank You. As you have mentioned the side view looks good since you have adequate radix height and tip projection. I assume that you have some concerns regarding the frontal view of your nose. To improve your 'dorsal aesthetic line', an osteotomy to narrow the upper half of the nose, and a weir-excision to narrow the alar width could be possible Thank You.

Hello, I'm Dr. Oh-Young Joo from Eight Plastic Surgery Clinic, South Korea. From the photos that you have posted, it seems that you have both bony/septal deviations. To be more accurate a facial CT scan will be needed, which we have equipped at our clinic. The nostril asymmetry could be caused by both 1) size discrepancy of left and right cartilages2) septal deviation For bony deviation, a correction process by surgery including osteotomy would be needed and for aesthetic purposes a hump reduction seems preferable. Also, to address the deviation in the lower part of the nose, caused by septal deviation a septoplasty and tip plasty (to fix the cartilage discrepancy issue) could be reasonable. These procedures could also help with the functional issues (breathing problems). Thank You.
