Office review: Do Not Fall for the “Free” Virtual Consultation!

Do Not Fall for the “Free” Virtual Consultation!

I met with Dr. Reish virtually last year. He was a lovely person. We spoke for about 10 minutes and ultimately I decided to wait until I was in a better financial position. His office then proceeded to harass me for months, sending me bill after bill for $200 and attempting to charge my insurance company as well. When I called the woman claimed that my conversation changed from a “free” plastic surgery conversation to a conversation about possibly things that insurance might cover (like a deviated septum) and therefore now it is considered a medical consult. Couldn’t make this up if I tried. I told the woman I have the text messages from prior to my consult in which they confirmed it was free. I was told by the person on the phone to just forget about the bill. A week later I received a letter threatening me with legal action if I didn’t pay my $30 copay (this was a new one - and again, there is no copay when you are not having a medical consultation and when it has nothing to do with your insurance company) within 2 weeks.

It’s a shame because Dr. Reish seemed incredibly kind on our FaceTime, and I was thinking that eventually I would want to use him for this procedure, but I’m absolutely disgusted with the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group and the deception of the advertisement for a free consultation on THIS website, and simply the absolute greed that they’ve displayed. Be careful with any doctor affiliated with this group!

In my experience, their office is run with inconsistent and seemingly (or at least somewhat) deceptive policies. I was also given quite conflicting and inaccurate information, and by very rude staff, to boot. I was shocked at how unprofessional it all was. For a number of reasons, (most of all that I do not trust the very early and glowing reviews by his patients who literally just had their surgery post, plus I do not feel his longterm results are as great as advertised) I did not pursue surgery with him. You might have dodged a bullet. If you can't fully trust from the get-go, imagine trusting the future of your face/body with their practice.
