This is a loooong review but hopefully this helps someone!
Primary Rhino:I have absolutely hated my nose since childhood. About 5 years ago I had my primary rhinoplasty from a famous and well-respected surgeon but still ended up with severe complications: lack of breathing capability out of my left nostril, poly beak deformity, severely droopy nasal tip (think Squidward), thinner bridge with still very wide nasal bones, cartilage jutting out side, bulbous and over-projected nasal tip, and a severely crooked/deviated septum. I went from having a big nose to a worse, still very big nose. My nasal tip was larger than before and my overall nose appeared bigger after my primary rhino because the new deformities drew more attention to it. My self esteem was so low that I refused to keep any pictures posted of myself on social media.Consultation:After several consultations with all the Beverly Hills doctors in California, my home state, I bit the bullet and set one up with Dr. Reish in New York. He had such a kind and warm demeanor. He immediately pointed out everything he would correct during surgery BEFORE I mentioned what went wrong with my primary rhino. Dr. Reish’s consultation was the only one that provided me with relief, I booked him immediately. He charged the same or otherwise less than all the Beverly Hills surgeons.Pre-op:The team checked in with me a number of times before surgery. My patient coordinator Melissa, nurse Angelica, and anesthesiologist Dr. Joel were absolute gems!! Melissa coordinated all my appointments carefully taking into consideration my hotel and flight plans because I was coming from out of state.Post-op:I was genuinely so surprised, my face hardly swelled or bruised at all, even with my thick skin!! I was able to eat solid foods after surgery and studied later that night. My entire face blew up into a purple basketball after my primary rhino and I had major trouble consuming a modest liquid diet for days then so this was shocking. I’m sure this has everything to do with Dr. Reish’s level of expertise and meticulous precision during surgery.Dr. Reish checked in with me several times and encouraged me to text him with any and all questions. When I did, he’d respond fairly quickly. I stopped taking the pain meds after day 3 or 4, but wasn’t even too sure I needed them in the first place. Very silly looking back and writing this now but at that time my anxiety would kick in and I’d worry about the lack of pain thinking, “Did he even do anything?”My cast came off on its own by day 6 and my nose was massively swollen (which Dr. Reish properly prepared me for). I went in the following day and Dr. Reish gave me two steroid shots. He reassured me several times that he was available via text, call, and FaceTime as often as I needed. His reassurances made me leave the office in tears, it was so embarrassing haha.12 days post-op:It would be disingenuous to post a review on my full opinion of Dr. Reish’s work considering the fact the my nose is obviously swollen and not at its final result yet. However, even at this point in time, I am thrilled with Dr. Reish’s immediate corrections. I can breathe nearly perfectly, I had forgotten what this felt like! I started exercising around day 9 post-op (he cleared me at day 7). My nostrils are even. My nasal tip is still swollen but holy moly it is de-projected. My nose is shorter (no more Squidward!). Lastly, I have no visible scar despite having an open rhinoplasty. Somehow the very visible scar from my last surgery has also disappeared? Rachel left me with scar cream and I'm applying it religiously nevertheless.I am currently a law student so being face-confident is especially important for my anticipated career. I spent my life savings on this and do not regret my decision in choosing Dr. Reish one bit. He was absolutely worth flying cross-country for in the middle of a school semester. The number of reviews seem too good to be true but I suggest anyone to just book the consultation with him and see for yourself. I might or might not post pictures yet, pictures are still a hard thing for me but feel free to send me a message. I’d love to talk with anyone on the fence! I have no doubt in my mind that Dr. Reish is one of the best, if not THE best plastic surgeon in the US. Dr. R and his whole team are exceptionally professional and attentive. I know I made the right decision and this truly changed my life. I feel such relief. I feel like I can finally live my life comfortably no longer having such a distracting feature in the center of my face.

Hi!! Thanks for posting your review! I am currently scheduled for my revision rhinoplasty at the end of April with Dr. Reish. I cannot thank you and all the people who post how wonderful he is. It makes me that much more confident I chose the right doctor and it's worth all the extra $$ to fly to NY early to do the Covid test, quarantine for 3 days before surgery, and incur a week and a half, maybe more, of hotel costs on top of the almost $20,000 for the surgery - my life savings as well! So tell me, how did your splints come out by themselves? My first surgery, they really had to tug those suckers out! Secondly, I feel like I'm going to need steroid shots for my tip correction as well. (Should have had them my first time) How many more days do I have to stay in NY if I'm going to need those? If I get a good outcome like you, I am going to shout Dr. Reish's praises from the top of the world! I hope I'm in that club!

Dr. Reish does not do internal splints, nostril retainers, or tape.

It’s entirely too early to make a judgment. I’ve talked to revision girls who were happy and posted a review and now extremely unhappy and consulting elsewhere for revision.

There are better surgeons to fly to for revision. Reish only knows a handful of grafts.

So did you have surgery done by Dr. Reish? It sounds like you are not completely satisfied.

Interesting comment. I tried to schedule a consultation with him but never got a reply from his office. I did make contact with a couple of people who consulted who decided not to go forward as they were told surgery would take two hours, too short for a complicated revision, and cadaver rib would be used.

Also, where did you stay? Did you like your hotel?

Thank you so much Kristy, I'm not one to write reviews but nose problems are particularly personal and difficult, I hoped this could help someone! If you were my best friend I would tell you a few things:

(1) Money will be an issue for the rest of your life. I do not know how old you are but for story's sake, let's assume you are the same age as I (26 y/o). You do not want to be 40 and say, "wow, now I can finally afford that rhinoplasty I've always wanted!" You do not want to continue living like this for the next 14 years of your life. Life is TOO short, give yourself that confidence now and pay it off. Trust me honey, I am SOOO frugal, this is the only thing I could spend my money on that I KNEW would bring me genuine happiness.

(2) Splints are normally removed around days 5-7 by most doctors so mine coming off on day 6 was nothing to worry about. I am sure mine came off on its own because my skin became SOOOO oily underneath my cast, it was unbelievable. I avoided hot showers and washing my face close to my nose so it must have been from the oil. This is not too uncommon and nothing to worry about.

(3) I arrived to NY Thursday March 4th, had a covid test in the office on Friday, March 5th, had surgery Tuesday, March 9th, and left town after having my steroid shots on Tuesday, March 16th. You will likely have a follow-up 6-7 days after your surgery date and on that follow up appointment, Dr. Reish will likely give you the steroid injections if he thinks you will need them. Feel free to suggest them too! He does not like to inject on the tip and will likely give you shots on other parts of the nose if needed. The tip will go down in time, do not worry! He makes himself super available to his patients so if you start to worry, just send him progress pics post-op and he will evaluate where your tip-swelling should be at.

(4) I stayed at Fairfield Inn & Suites in Times Square. It was relatively inexpensive and mediocre overall, but I wasn't looking for fancy and my room was so quiet and nice for my travel purposes.

(5) Feel free to private message me for any further or more private questions! Good luck!

Thanks for the info! I just had my pre-op virtual appt. with him yesterday and I feel like it's going to be a success :)

I am a slow healer, and my nose was swollen for nearly 2 years after my first rhinoplasty, so I hope I can see SOMETHING after about a month or so. Noses change and change and change every month that goes by. I hope this is it and I never have to do this again. And, LOL, I'm in my low 50s, so this money was saved up for my facelift! But my husband isn't on board with that procedure quite yet, so alas the rhinoplasty comes first. About how long of a cab/Uber drive is it from Fairfield to 1111 Park Ave, do you remember?
And so sorry, because I'm not real "tech-y" I don't know how to send you a private message. Thanks again, for the info! Fairfield does look like a nice enough place to stay!

Glad you are happy but no such thing as "the best plastic surgeon." Pictures would also go a long way to supporting the results.
