I Got my Confidence and Breathing Back!
WORTH IT
This surgery was everything I asked for and more. If you are considering it, you are in good hands with Dr. Rahban.
My journey starts over 10 years ago, when I had my original septo/rhinoplasty with another doctor, I was 17 and had a broken nose pretty much all my life that made breathing tough, and it was severely asymmetrical, downturned and you could see the bones in the bridge. When I had my first surgery, I did more research on the surgery itself and recovery rather than the surgeon doing it. Something I deeply regret. After the first surgery, it honestly looked great and was just so much better than my original nose I settled and didn't notice any immediate issues. Of course as the swelling went down over time, these issues became more and more visible. The rate of the swelling over the years can be so subtle, which is why it took me a while to notice just how crooked my tip got. It collapsed to one side and the tip was so far off from where it should have been, also, the septum wasn't aligned correctly and ended up giving me 10% airflow on one side. All of these structural issues that shouldn't have been there started making the appearance back to being very asymmetric again, which really made my self esteem go down. I knew after a while I needed to go see someone about how to go about this, and originally thought maybe something filler could alleviate the cosmetic side to some degree. I had had a previous surgery with Dr. Rahban (with a lot of research beforehand for doctors all over the US) and remember the experience being beyond smooth and easy, so I reached out to him again after searching his revision rhino patient testimonies and got a consultation. Immediately, he knew the only fix was a revision surgery, and he went into detail on why. He explained all of these structural issues that were causing the asymmetry and breathing issues, and made sure to walk me through everything he would be doing in the surgery. I felt a little defeated because no one wants to have to have a second surgery, but I knew it was the right thing to not only get my breathing back but my confidence too. I was so worried though about it not being subtle, as I had already had to learn an entire new face before, I really didn't want to have to have a dramatic adjustment or a trendy looking nose job. He assured me that wouldn't happen, and that is exactly what he did. Not only did he fix my breathing issues, reinforce the structure of my septum, bridge and tip, and made it look just look how I did before but more symmetric and better. It is in such harmony with the rest of my features that there is no distraction anymore, and people don't even notice I had it done it blends so well. My confidence is 100% back and I think this was the nose I was meant to have. Every step of the process felt right, he answered all my questions, addressed all of my concerns, and the staff is absolutely wonderful as well. I am now about 6 months post op, a lot of the swelling has gone down and I am so happy with the results. I am ecstatic about my choice, and really hope that if you are considering this procedure, you book a consultation with Dr. Rahban!
