Charles East is Head and Shoulder Above Other Rhinoplasty Surgeons
UPDATED FROM Sincere3351
4- Month update
WORTH IT
As promised, here is an update. 4 months on from revision rhinoplasty, the progress so far has been good, with no complications, which is something I had worried about, since I had a complication after my primary surgery. The swelling is continuing to go down, with most of the upper and middle-third of the nose resolved. The tip is still visibly swollen, but that too is starting to come down, although taking bit longer than the rest.

Charles East is Head and Shoulder Above Other Rhinoplasty Surgeons
Charles East is head and shoulder above other surgeons when it comes to complex rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty. He has literally changed my life and exceeded my expectations.
My story: My natural nose was very broad and flat. I believe I broke it at least once in childhood. I also have thick, ethnic skin, and as I discovered, this presents a challenge for most surgeons. My case was further complicated by the fact that it was a revision rhinoplasty; I had already had primary rhinoplasty 12 years earlier, with less than optimal results. My nose was not as flat after the first surgery, but it was still fairly broad and bulbous, with flared nostrils. After over a decade spent considering revision rhinoplasty, I fortunately found Charles East.
I had gone to approximately 10 previous consultations with 7 surgeons in 3 different countries, and with each, the first thing I was told is that my skin was very, very thick, and I would likely not get the results I wanted, so I was to keep my expectations low. With some other surgeons, I was not comfortable and confident in their proposed approach. This was disappointing, as it became apparent that there is a dearth of specialists in the UK who are competent at working with ethnic skin and bone structure. Mr East was the first surgeon who not only sat and listened very carefully to what I was asking, but also left me with confidence that he had the skill to perform the surgery. He was not dismissive of my goals, whilst also judiciously walking me through what could be achieved. I wanted narrower nostrils, slimmed dorsal line and a sharper tip. He didn’t shy away from any of my questions, and after all of my previous consultations, I had many questions!
Prior to surgery, I was given a routine to follow, which was meant to optimise my results. I prepped my skin to get a better texture and introduced a vitamin D regime to my diet. On the day of my surgery, Mr. East and Ms. Badia both met with me to walk over the procedure again, and listened to my concerns. I was nervous, this was 12 years in the making, but they calmed my nerves and we went over my goals for the revision rhinoplasty.
I was surprised by how little bruising there was after the surgery. I was given good guidance on caring for my nose after the surgery. By the time my splint and bandage came off on day 6, much of the undereye bruising had already subsided, and on the 10th day, I was able to go out with friends! Five weeks on, I cannot believe how good the results are. The swelling seems substantially less with this revision surgery, than the swelling I had after my primary rhinoplasty, and I believe this is due to the diamond rhinoplasty technique that was used, which minimises tissue trauma. I have included pictures for comparison between my pre-revision rhinoplasty nose, and a picture taken four weeks after surgery. There is notably still some swelling, as there is bound to be with rhinoplasty, but I will aim to give 3 and 6 month updates when more of the swelling has gone down.
I am beyond grateful that I found Mr. East and Ms. Badia. Before I had my consultations with them, I had nearly given up on my dream of having a nose that I found aesthetically pleasing, one that didn’t overwhelm my face. He has exceeded my expectations from start to finish. The whole experience was straightforward and everyone within the practice were really friendly and understanding.

Hi omg thanks for posting. I am in a very similar position to u were. I had primary 15 yrs ago and I've never really liked it and it's lately really got me down. I'd had sooo many consultations with so many different surgeons! I've seen Charles about 4 times ver the years but it's a huge decision to make. Would you mind talking about it over the phone with me as it may help make my mind up!! ? Vic x
Hi, would you mind sending some before and after photos to me on private message? I have a consultation coming soon and I want to see more noses that look like mine and he has operated on, thank you!
