How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

Not a Qualified Revision Specialist

Dr. Compton performed a revision rhinoplasty on me in June 2022. The surgery was meant to repair my ability to breathe and improve some obvious cosmetic abnormalities. Unfortunately, Dr. Compton’s surgery outcome left me with a collapsed external valve (confirmed by his colleague, who is also an ENT) and severe cosmetic asymmetry from all sides (extreme alar notching, terribly uneven nostrils, an undefined bridge with a blunt, upturned tip). Cosmetically, my nose looked absolutely nowhere near what Dr. Compton and I had discussed.

On several occasions I tried to address these issues with Dr. Compton and at every turn he downplayed or straight up dismissed my concerns. Finally, at our last in person meeting (1year post op), he left me in tears, after he gaslit me and pretended not to see the very obvious cosmetic issues shown in his own before and after pictures taken by his staff (PHOTOS ATTACHED).

By this point in the conversation, I had simply requested that he’d try two in-office minimally invasive procedures (suggested by his ENT colleague) that could not only potentially fix my breathing issue but also ever so slightly improve the extreme nostril notching/asymmetry. Dr. Compton promised he would perform these procedures in an attempt to finish the job he started and I told him that I would happily assume ALL risk in hopes that it would at the very least improve my breathing. Before officially booking the procedure his office staff reached out asking if I would have a call with Dr. Compton to go over our plans. I booked a time to talk and he was several hours late. Once we finally met, he once again confirmed that he would perform said minimally invasive in office procedures. Three days later his office sent me a terribly generic email stating that Dr. Compton no longer wanted to perform said procedures for fear of failure and referred me to his local competitor (Dr. Zuiliani). I immediately responded stating how shocked and upset I was by this decision and never heard back from anyone in his office again, including Dr. Compton himself.

6 months later and I have now just spent $25k to have another surgeon (not his local competitor) finish the job Dr. Compton refused to complete. My alar notching and asymmetry was so terrible that it required extensive grafts performed by a highly skilled revision rhinoplasty surgeon based on the west coast.

I’m writing an honest review so that anyone seeking a revision via Dr. Compton will see this and reconsider — a warning I wish I had read before choosing him as my surgeon.

Will be interested to see how quickly he or his office staff responds to this public review, considering my private email sent 6mo ago is still unanswered. I assume any response will be full of blame and excuses.
