After almost 10 years of wanting liposuction under my chin I finally had it done today! I still have my bandages and I'm so excited to see the results. I'll post before photos and after photos as soon as I can. Updated on 16 Oct 2020: Updated on 16 Oct 2020:
I am very happy with the outcome of my surgery and the service i experienced from Dr. Compton and office staff. He is very personable, explained all my issues, and the fixes. My surgery helped me breath a lot better, giving me much needed relief during sleep.
Dr. Compton is very talented, skillful and caring. I could not be more pleased with the care I received before during and after my procedures. The outcome on a scar revision procedure has far succeeded my expectations. I waited a long time to do this and I'm so very pleased with the results
Dr. Compton did an amazing job on my nose, I had a major deviated septum and I could not breathe through my right nostril because of it. Dr. Compton fixed the deviated septum and also straightened the hump on my nose bridge. I can breath so much better than before and I am very satisfied with the appearance. I would highly recommend Dr. Compton to anyone needing rhinoplasty surgery.
Dr. Compton is a wonderful physician and a fantastic surgeon. I've experienced chronic sinus infections for the past 10 years, and after trying every OTC remedy and antibiotic, I decided it was time to see an ENT. My PCP recommended Dr. Compton, so I called and I was able to get an appointment with him within 2 weeks at his Troy location. Once there, he did a thorough examination of my nasal cavity and determined I would be a great candidate for balloon sinuplasty and turbinate reduction. He explained the procedure would be mildly painful and I may have a headache post-op with nasal drainage, but otherwise it should be a recovery time of a few days. The surgery itself was quick, and I only experienced moderate pain during the numbing process. Dr. Compton was polite and talked me through the entire procedure, which made me feel more comfortable. Afterwards, I had a relative drive me home, as the pre-op medications consist of a sedative. Once home, I was able to sleep and relax, only taking the pain medication once later that day. The next few days consisted of random bloody nasal discharge and mild pain in the sinus areas; however, NSAIDs and a gauze mustache were easy fixes. Nasal rinses and sprays were also helpful during this time period. Overall, I highly recommend this surgery, especially with Dr. Compton, as it has helped my breathing tremendously. I've been able to get HIGH quality sleep with my mouth closed, and I no longer have to carry a box of Kleenex around with me wherever I go.
I recently had Eustachian Tube Balloon Dilation with Dr Compton. I have lived with "plugged ears" most of my life, along with sinus issues. The worst were the ears: muffled, half deaf, rarely clearing, etc. Every winter this would continue until it got so bad after several weeks that I would develop dizziness and nausea. Wouldn't get on an airplane, terrible experience with painful pressure upon landing. Dr Compton suggested this newer procedure using the balloon dilation. After having a CT scan to rule out other issues, he found areas of my sinuses which could benefit from dilation as well (narrowing, etc). I agreed to the combined procedures, which were performed in-office with mild sedation (2 pills I was prescribed, to be taken one hour before). The procedure went well, I felt little discomfort, I was expecting much more discomfort. Dr Compton was very gentle and constantly checking with me to see how I was doing. After the procedure I went home with pain meds (never took any more; didn't need them). I felt discomfort that evening, some bleeding; used a heating pad around my face which helped a lot. By the time I went to bed the pain/discomfort was about a "1" and I fell asleep easily. The next day, bleeding if I leaned over, but mostly just clearing out the "gunk" from the procedure. I could feel I was breathing more easily, and the ears were still plugged, but changing. It felt like the healing was happening. I was able to otherwise go about my day normally, no pain whatsoever. Two days later, while at the gym (with my headphones on) I could hear parts of songs I never heard before! It was really amazing! As time goes on (two weeks now) I still feel my hearing improving, and the "plugged" feeling going away, bit by bit. Currently, I can clear my ears by swallowing. Its' not perfect, but at only two weeks its a lot better. I hope things continue to improve. Bottom line: I'm glad I had this done, it was worth it, even if nothing more changes, but I feel that things will continue to get better, as they still are. If you have my symptoms, go see Dr Compton, as he is very competent, kind, gentle and concerned about his patient's welfare. Tom B
I saw Dr Compton for what I thought was a bad acne scar on my face (cheek) that was like a large pore that would collect makeup and dirt and sloughed skin cells that I had lived with for years. When I looked in the mirror immediately after my procedure, I was astounded that even though I had sutures, I could barely see the incision from which he removed the giant crater from my face. We immediately regretted not taking a BEFORE photo, as words cannot even do his work justice. I went straight from his office to my job! Although the numbing injection was unpleasant, he talked me through it and gave excellent aftercare instruction to minimize any scarring. When I went in for my follow-up visit, no one could find where I once had a two inch incision in my face! I have worked in the medical field for decades and would recommend Dr Compton to everyone.
Dr. Compton performed a Balloon Sinus Dilation, to help with years of sinus headaches and turbinate dysfunction….. and I can now breathe! Before the Procedure I was prescribed Norco and a prescription to help calm my nerves. I heard horror stories about this procedure and I was nervous about seeing the instruments coming toward my face. I can honestly say, that I reached the proper medication level and could care less about the instruments. I was quickly sprayed and then numbed up. Dr. Compton and his team had an amazing “bedside manner”, and I was completely at ease. The Procedure I felt pressure at times, but no real pain. Again, the team kept me informed, as to what they were doing and were encouraging. It was so much easier than I anticipated! After the Procedure I felt air immediately! I had a slight headache, when I went home, but did not need any pain medication. You will have some blood drainage that first day. A handful or hours later, I felt like I had a bad hangover. I became sick a few times, which was not surprising for me, as I assume it was from the medication and drainage going down your throat. I felt better after that. The next few days, I felt very stuffy and my nose made this fun noise, which was a bonus. I am now a week out and one side feels great and the other side a little stuffy, but did I mention…… I now know what it’s like to breathe! If you are a candidate for this procedure… get it done! Dr. Compton is an amazing doctor and a true artist! I had a botched nose and went to him for a complex revision. He fixed my septum and now I can finally breathe! I had the surgery in June 2017, and now I’m 6 months out and I couldn’t be happier. I had done my research with many doctors...When I went on my first consultation I immediately felt comfortable that I had met the right doctor and I was in the right hands. He’s honest, meticulous, and cares about his work and the results. He gave me his 100 percent and he exceeded my expectations. He is genuine and truly an artist. So thankful for him. I wouldn’t trust anyone else!
Since having my last son I could never seem to get rid of my double chin. I didn't like to smile on pictures because it made my face look like a giant pumpkin ????. Anyway I decided to try chin liposuction. For the most part the procedure was easy. I just felt like I had gone a few minutes in the ring with Mike Tyson. Recovery for me has been annoying and frustrating due to the fact I hadn't prepared myself for the numbness that is still present after one week and having to wear the compression garment full time. I am still in he process of healing some days look much better than others.
Hello! I agree with the others about genetics rather than age being a factor, so don't worry there! I would recommend a combination of plasma IQ, Morpheus 8, (a higher tech kind of radio-frequency microneedling) and then an injection of nanofat. For this we take a small amount of fat from your abdomen, process it, then inject it back into your eye area, which optimizes healing, helps to produce more collagen and just really gives a nice rejuvenation effect.
Hello! I have offices in West Bloomfield and Troy, and provide Botox brand for $10/unit. We can fit you in almost any day I'm in the office and after discussion and exam, we'll decide how many units and can get it done that day. I can certainly see you back in the office for any adjustments, and I usually like to start out conservatively so we can easily add to the treatment if needed. Thanks for your question and hopefully we'll see you soon!
Both men and women look best when the underlying bony structure is creating the facial highlights and shapes, not the soft tissues. Men especially require a structured look. I agree that your chin is underprojected which is creating a relative prominence of the submental fat because its not being supported. This is a fairly typical male issue and is corrected nicely with a chin implant and submental liposuction. I have used just about every style of solid silicone chin implants, but find the extended anatomical chin implant most often looks the best. I would typically add jawline filler around the mandibular angles for that extra definition which could be done at the same time or a different time. I would typically use Voluma or Restylane Lyft to ensure you like that change. After 1-2 years as it fades if you liked it, we could add Bellefill for longer lasting volume. That is a powerful combination that can make a big difference.
In revision rhinoplasty patients I often have this discussion about possible rib grafting. This is because the septal cartilage has been previously used, removed or it is unknown if it is present. In this situation you can use your ear cartilage, rib cartilage or a cadaveric rib cartilage. This decision is based on the patients age and the grafting requirements. They each have their risks and benefits and offer different things. The ear cartilage is flexible but is not very strong in relation to its thickness. I will sometimes use this for large septal perforation repairs or for use in the nostrils. It is my least favorite option as it adds significant bulk to the nose for the amount of strength needed. Cadaveric rib grafts offer the benefit of shorter operative time and no harvest site, but trade off with poorer cartilage quality and unknown long term stability. I have been using them for over 5 years now, and have not seen many resorption problems, but prefer not to use them in anyone under 50 yo. There are many different tissue banks and processing formulations, so the long term success ( over 10 years) with these grafts is unknown. In younger patients, the option with the longest track record and best long term characteristics is using your own rib. While there is some pain associated with this, I place an On-Q pump to numb the rib for the first 72+ hours after surgery. After removal the pain is mild to moderate for a few more days. The risks of harvest are still there including injury to the lung and pneumothorax, but these are extremely rare. The benefits of good quality, large quantity, strong, structural cartilage that can be used for almost anything in the nose can not be overstated. This is how difficult revision cases can achieve great results. Your surgeon will review the best options for your case, but this is my thoughts. All the best.
While there are many surgeons who have famous names, this is most often due to frequent lecturing to other doctors. While they are likely excellent surgeons, the travel costs, the increased surgical cost, and the decreased face to face time with the surgeon may not be ideal for everyone. There are often experienced surgeons that are close to home, that are quite capable of providing excellent care. Depending on your needs, a frank discussion with your consulting surgeon about their experience with your particular situation is the best. All the best.
