Blown Away by His Work - Rivision Rhinoplasty
I had a good feeling the first time I met with Dr. Calvert on Zoom, and my second meeting with him, where I showed him what I had in mind and he said he believed that if he couldn’t replicate it exactly that it would be very close (I knew that no doctor could promise me that he or she could necessarily replicate exactly what I wanted), sealed the deal. It wasn’t only that, however. A very well-respected plastic surgeon in Atlanta, GA where I live referred me to Dr. Calvert, as my case apparently was quite complex. (I had had rhinoplasty 35 years earlier, and over time the cartilage had shifted and my nose looked horrible. I’ve wanted to fix it for years. I had spoken to some doctors over the years but just didn’t feel any of them was going to be able to do a good job.) Additionally, I did research on Dr. Calvert, and was impressed by what I read and saw. Incidentally, he’s the president of the Rhinoplasty Society and is internationally known for his work on rhinoplasty and nasal reconstruction. Ultimately, I absolutely made the right decision. Even on the day after surgery when I finally got a glimpse of what I looked like, I could see a small part of the tip of my nose, and I could tell it looked 100 times better just from that. Then when I was two weeks out, on the day I flew back home, I saw for the first time my entire nose. Even with it swollen I could see how incredible it looked. I forgot to mention he had also shown me pictures he had taken of my nose while I was still on the operating table after he had finished, and it looked fantastic! I’m exactly four weeks to the day out now from my surgery. The swelling has gone down a little, but, as Dr. Calvert says he reminds patients of constantly, it’s a process, and you must be willing to be patient if you go through this procedure.
Dr. Calvert has been blessed with incredible talent. He is not only a fabulous surgeon but also an extraordinary artist. He has a good sense of humor that helps to put you at ease, and he has always patiently answered all of my questions. I am positively blown away by what he did. It’s also obvious that he is passionate about his work. I want to add that his staff has always been very friendly and always made me feel comfortable to call with any questions or requests. I know when the swelling goes down further that I will no longer shy away from getting my picture taken or speaking in front of a group of people. I can’t even describe how freeing a feeling that is, or how different I already feel about myself. I can never thank you enough, Dr. Calvert.
